airport. this time it was a flooded terminal. take a look at this. the new york port authority is launching an investigation after a pipe broke sunday, flooded one of the terminals. they had to shut off the power. this mess adds to the weather-related chaos. they're still dealing with the delays when they had to close the airport. we just checked with flight aware. the airport seeing delays of 30 minutes. if you're flying in and out of jfk, check your airlines today. eun, back to you. >> looks like a big mess. chris, thank you. howard university has postponed classes for more than a week because of problems created by this long stretch of cold weather. the cold caused steam pipes to burst, filling two classroom buildings and the annex with moisture. ceiling tiles had

he was last seen at a costco store in beltsville. his family is asking search parties to meet at the volunteer fire department in beltsville this morning. metro riders are not allowed to carry negative balances on your smart trip card. one way to avoid that is to sign up for the auto reload. it's going to add money to the smart trip card when your balance drops below $10. unresolved negative balances through the years added up to about $25 million in lost revenue. there could be another change coming for metro riders. this one involves putting money back into your pockets. metro wants to give riders a credit if they're delayed 15 minutes or more. this can only apply to weekday rush hour trips. they approved that plan this week. he's going to have a live report at 5:00. it's 4:33. one of hollywood's biggest

long, i hardly know. roll the red backgrounds around here. weather alert, our long stretch of bitter cold weather is just about ready to come to an end. but we had to get through today and tonight first. there you can see a little pocket of freezing rain out across parts of ohio now. this is all coming in our general direction. so though it is a dry and frigid start, most of the neighborhoods are in the mid to upper teens right now. that is the problem. little bit of moisture coming up over the top of that. zoom in a little closer. nothing going on out there yet. could have a stray snowflake across parts of the shenandoah valley. >> if you see any sleet or snow, send it to me on twitter. always appreciate the good weather reports out there to help keep everybody safe and prepared as they try to get into work on a monday morning. >> it is monday again. breaking new

today, nationals analyst ray knight will be in court. he was arrested back in october for assault and battery. he admitted in front of news 4 cameras that he was involved in a fight with friends inside his alexandria apartment. he'll be in the courtroom today. look for updates in the nbc washington app. a high-end d.c. jewelry store has been robbed for the second time in a matter of weeks. yesterday someone hurled a rock through the window at benson's jewelers. the burglar smashed three display cases and ran off. the owner says there will be some changes at the store after the latest burglary. >> you just cross your fingers when you go home at night. everything is locked up. but i think a gate is going to be coming soon. >> the owner says this could be the same burglar who hit the store a few days before christmas. there is surveillance video of the break-in and police may be releasing that soon. there's another option for catching the bus in d.c. a new route is launchingin
