deadly shooting on 24th street and stie land place. the victim was shot multiple times off good hope road. at this point, police don't have a suspect. now to a developing story. branch avenue reopened in temple hill after police spent hours investigating an accident that left one person dead. all this happened around 8:00 last night. we're told the woman was driving northbound on branch avenue when a man coming off a service road tried to turn left. he got hit by the driver going northbound and was later pronounced dead. the woman was rushed to the hospital. police have not released the identity of that victim. this morning, we're hearing of a 17-year-old girl calmly describes how she tortured and murdered another girl.

because she believed the girl played a role in her boyfriend's murder. she will be sentenced in may. doctors expect congressman steve scalise to remain in the hospital for several days as he recovers from surgery. the house majority whip had a planned follow-up procedure yesterday. the hospital says the surgery went well and scalise was resting comfortably. he was nearly killed during a baseball practice shooting in alexandria last summer. a bullet to the hip shattered bones and damaged internal organs. today, a school in alexandria will be chosed and won't reopen until next week. on tuesday night, a pipe burst indied george washington middle school. all that water soaked in electric panels. crews had to turn it off and the water took out the fire alarm syst system. students and teacher can't go back until the heat and power is back on and the fire mah

rescuers are still trying to find missing crew members of an oil tanker that crashed into other ship off the coast of china. it was carrying 136,000 tons of an ultralight version of crude oil. it's been on fire ever since. it's toxic and far more flammable than crude oil and there's a real chance it could explode. one crew member's body has been recovered. but others are missing. fire crews are still trying to douse the wreckage with foam.
