near st. barnabas road. the woman behind the wheel of that second car was critically injured. new tonight, a local youth leader and the son of a mega church pastor in prince william county sentenced to five months in jail. jason baird convicted of exposing himself to and touching an underaged girl. she told jurors it happened multiple times from 2014 to 2015. we spoke to one of the jury alternates who was excused after two days. he said he agrees with the guilty verdict. >> what did she have to gain? it's like to me, i believe her. >> this is video of jason baird performing in the fall of 2012 on the cw singing show "the next." he even made it to the finfinal. prosecutors say baird misused his position as a church youth leader. prince george's

police are investigating what caused a student to stab another student today. the school resource officer initially responded to the fight and the school was briefly on lockdown. one student who was not involved in the fight told news 4 he wants better security inside his school. >> the school doesn't really take the proper precautions of what's being brought into the school. it's really a school thing. they have to get it under control. >> all the students involved are expected to be okay. the student with the knife turned himself into school officials. >> developing tonight, new video shows the muddy mess in southern california. look at the muck that's taking over homes. contamination from the floods now forcing health officials to close more than a dozen beaches in santa barbara county. we get an update on the search and rescue efforts. >> jonathan benitez, 10 years old.

advocates and the u.s. attorney for the district and the anacostia library. >> human trafficking is often a hidden crime, one that draws people of all ages, backgrounds and genders. >> reporter: the d.c. attorney general says children account for half of the victims of human trafficking. in fact, he says that the average young person to become involved in sex trafficking is just 12 years old. he says sex traffickers prey on the vulnerable, often luring them with protection, love and adventure. he says that sex traffickers target these vulnerable people, young people, on the internet, particularly on social media. >> traffickers use ploys like i can be your boyfriend, i can be your daddy. >> reporter: her program is called fair girls. what advice do you give to parents who are watching right now? >> look at what your child is doing online. >> reporter: police say there are five open missing persons cases in the district. they say they have no evidence that any are c

>> reporter: melisande short-colomb can look down on the grave of the jesuit priests who owned her ancestors as slaves. >> we have greatly sinned. >> reporter: after much prompting from students yorjtown university publicly apologized for its ugly history of slave ownership. short-colomb, a chef by profession, seen here in a photo by gus bennett, part of his new orleans people project, remembers reading something about it in the newspaper. but it was only last year after getting a call from a genealogical researcher that she learned her great-grandparents were among the slaves sold to plantation owners in louisiana by the jesuits in 1838 to raise money for georgetown university. >> to be able to connect in america who owned your family, who sold your family and why, to be able to put that together never associating it with my family. >> reporter: when short-colomb learned that as part of

our area during the evening tomorrow night. so once again, not a complete washout of a day, but keep the um brel ha handy. most of the showers back to the west. overnight we'll see showers move in, but notice this right here is 7:00 a.m. on future weather and we're expecting a rather wet rush hour. you might need to give yourself a little extra time. and there will be a few slick spots out there. temperatures still around the 60-degree mark. as we move on through the day at noon, 1:00, the rain moves back in. earlier the computer model had this right over d.c., but but now this has moved to the east. i-95 east, the heaviest rain. but then we get a break. we've been calling for the break the last couple of days. that break maybe during the evening rush. that will help that evening rush. any time it rains during the rush hour tends to slow things down. it would be nice to get that rain out of here. look what happens tomorrow night. 11:00 p.m. to around midnight, very strong
