on again, we got special permission to get our chopper up in the air over the district. as you know there has not been anything flying in the air over e district since 9/11. check out the shots that we've got, showing the crowds out here. e parade itself was just -- it was just so much fun to watch ese guys celebrating all the way down constitution avenue to 7th and madison. it was azing to see the flyover. we also had a flyover. it was the kind of thing you have to have at a championship parade in this town particular, and the buses carrying these players were -st t me -wehe treely l you. it was a lot of craziness going on on board those buses, but they basically were tossing things off the bus to the crowd. people were going nuts anain, like i said, this is something that was much needed what mething that cures has ailed caps nation for years in this town. weinally are champions here. chris gordonth has more oe sights and sounds of the day.

night sou of the icc in beltville. police have two mysteries they're trying to solve. who was the driver w and is the victim. here is prince george's county bureau chiefrae wilkins. >> reporter: this was the backup on i-95 southbound this morning beltsville. the road was closed for six hours as police investigated a bizarre case of hit and run on e interstate. maryland state police say the pedestrian was walking in the middle of the roadway going down the southbound lanes here on i-95 when he was struck and vehicle.y that there were two people in that car who told maryland state police the driver too off running. >> the driver of the vehicle did leave the scene. we'r trying to identify exactly who the driver was and who the victim was at this point as well. >> reporter: the pedestrian who was struck and killed died on the roadway and police have not been able to identify him. the accident happened on 95t j south of the icc route 200. it's no place for pedestrians. >> we don't know why this person

what we're bei told it sounds like he felt like he was going overpowered. we will sho c you thatellphone video but i want to warn y some of it could be considered disturbing. >> someoneiterally got shot outside my house. >> reporter: that's t voice of nate kapler reacting in omsbelief after a deadly police shooting near the in silver spring. >> it all started with very long arguingnd then w just heard a lot of gunshots. >> reporter: the montgomery county police officer who opened fire has been identified,nand badgujar is a two-year veteran of the force. cellphone video obtained by news 4 shows an officer with his gun drawn over the wounded man lying on the ground after the shots were fired. appears to be breathing and an officer yelled. >> turn around. turn arnd, man. >> reporter: but the man doesn't appear to move. officers turn him and put him in handcuffs. photos shows officers and medics later performing first aid.

the man died at the hospital. police say he was not armed. police sayic the o was on duty in the area when he called for assistance with a suspicious person on 3 oaks drive. the man he seet has bn identified as robert white who lived ln a while away. police say white became combative when the officer tried to talk to him and things got physical. two minutes later police got a a call fromther officer, shots had been fired. the shooting has shaken this iet condo community with many long time residents who say they feel safe walking their dogs and being o at night. >> i've lived here 40 years an it's very upsetting. >> reporter: and that's what many residen in the neighborhood said today, that this was very upsetting. montgomeryounty police confirming that the two officers you see in the video were aring body cameras. they say the footage from this incident will beeleased once the investigation is over. back to you.

problems in some of the vehicles you may beg, driv including structural collapse and even air bags failing to deploy. the insurance institute for highway safety recently completed passenger side small overlap frontrash tests on eight midsize suvs. the institute started doing these types of crash tests because they notice that some auto makers were improving prection on the driver's side but not the passenger's side. the vehicles that earned overall ratings of good for the 2019 kia sorento as well as the 2018 models of the gmc acadia and volkswagen atlas. vehicles that earned a acceptable rating include the toyota highlander, nissan pathfinder and honda lot. the ford explorer and jeep grand cherokee received a poor rating overall. the institute says the structure in both cases didn't hold up well. the jeep had several issues, the side curirinag didn't
