people in the crowd said they never thought they would ever see. a championship parade hern their hometown of washington, d.c. it was just remarkabl to see alexander h ovechkinding up the trophy on the bus. that got the biggest reaction out of the crowd as you might expect. whe we are right now is where the action ended with the rally here on the mall and let me tell you something, everybody who came to this crowd here w and were told to expect close to 100,000 people to be out that is the guy they wanted to hear from the most and alexander ovechkin wrapped up the day on th stage in a way that only he could. >> what's up, birds? you know, like you thought it was going to be crazy, but- it's it's basically nuts.yo know? we all want to stay together with you guys. ♪ we are the champions, my

darcy? >> reporter: jim, the man who shot the video was actually at ho yesterday when he began hearing some yelling. he also heard shotsfired. it happened right here here in this parking lochlt.is he grabbed cellphone and began recording even though he was petrified because het did know if more shots would be fired. he shared that video with us out he concern about circumstances surrounding this police shooting. cellphone video obtained by news 4 shows an officer with his gun drver the wounded man lying on the ground after the shots were fired. he appears to be breathing. an officer yells. >> turn around. ton around, maut >> reportehe man doesn't appear to move. officers turn him and put him in handcuffs. photos show officers and medics later performing first aid. the man died at the hospital. police say he was not armed. the man who was shot has been identified as robert white, he lived at this home in silver spring.

hours through the night. prince georgs county bureau chief tracee wilkins has our story. >> we're hopinne som saw something. >> reporter: this was the backup on i-95 southbound this morning in ille. the road was closed for six hours as police investigated a bizarre case of hit and run the interstate. maryland state police say the pedestrian was walking in the middle of the roadwayoi down the southbound lanes here on i-95 when he was struck and eilled by that week. there were two peo this that car who told maryland state police the driver took off running. the driver of the vehicle did leave the scene. we're trying to identify exactly who the driver was and who the victim was at this point as well t >> reporter:he pedestrian who was struck and killed died on the roadway and police have not been able to identify him. the accident happened on 95 just sout of the icc route 200. it's no place for pedestrians. >> we don't know why this person was on there at that point in time. at any point in the day, especially at 11:30 at night.

google review page. shutter land's posting threatened to eradicate muslim americans and specifically target their children. the threat was posted the day after a terrorist drove a car through a crowd of petele in westmi england a few months ago. it was one of a series of threats he made according to prosecutors. he is 55 years old, an army veteran. no response for our request for comment from his attorneys. court filings don't specify the charge yetut a plea hearing in the case is scheduled. jim, back to you. a tragic accident involving olympic skier bode miller's daughter ns renewing warnings about your children as we enter into the summer swim season. miller's 19 month old daughter drowned in al swimming p this past weekend a family friend says theiller's had bee at a private party when little emmy somehow wound up in thepool. miller and his wife posted about the heart breaking loss on social media writing that they are, quote, beyond devastated.

some 800 childn drown every year in our country. that's according to the cdc, which says that' enough children to fill 11 school buses. dr is also the leading injury related death among kids one to three and the second leading cause for kids under 15. most toddlers and preschoolers drown in swimming tools while older kids are more likely to own in oceans, lakes or rivers. the cdc says parents should hi always stay w arm's reach and select swimming areas very carefully. they say it's important to use proper safety devices nd don't just rely on the lifeguard. you should also be wary of plastic or inflatable pools because they are too had a he have to drain after heavy use. the next time you head to ocean city you may notice some new measures in place to help pedestrians. that includes new fencing in the median off coastal highway. crews have also resurfaced
