formation about how this happened. aaron? >> chris, thank you. 5:02 here we're following a developing story in southeast d.c. a man is dead after a police-involved shooting there. >> this morning, neighbors and police have conflicting stories about what happened. news 4's justin finch joining u live with more on the shooting. have we been able to sort any of this out, justin? >> reporter: not quite yet, angie. as you mentiod, the shooting happened hours a yesterday evening. police still on the ground. the area still taped off. officers here as well. as you mentioned, neighsors have me questions about all of this. they'retelling us they wan to know how this police foot chase here turned fatal. i want sow you the cell phone video from a neighbor. it shows officers here on the ground after those shots were fired off the 37 block of first street here in southeast near wayne place. the man was shot, he was pronounced dead here o the scene. also want to show you this photo as well. this is from d.c. police. they're telling us this is the

weapon that they found on the scene aftersh thating. of course, at this time it's being taken into evidence. now after 7:00 p.m. yesterday, seven district officers who were in uniform arrived on the they were on patrol. they say they met a group of men in that alley back here off wayne place and first street and those men on site began to run away from the officers and the officers did fo in time they say one of those men pulled out a gun and officers opened fire at that time.r now a neigh tells us that she was nearby. she heard and saw things andthe did not w to be identified. take a listentu >> like this happens every day around this neighborhood, back and forth. there wasn't back and forth shooting because we know a cross fit. that wasn'o cross fire. that was one person hi.ing one pers >> reporter: and as you heard, neighbors want to understand what happened between police and that group of men. you're looking live at the
