it all happened out of nowhere. the sound of gunshots and oo sirens, they realized a person had been shot and they want to know why. we have cell phone video showing you yesterdayff theers on the ground shortly after the shots were fired o t 3700 block of first street.we o know that a man did die scene. they found this weapon on scene after the shooting. they believe it belongs to one of the men they began pussuing here after 7:00 p.m. on tuesday. officers from the 7th district in uniform came upon these men in an alley way. the man ren away from them but police followed. at some point one of those men produced a weapon. that is when officers opened fire. we spoke to a woman who did not want her face showed on camera. she described the gunfireal and her concerns. >> stuff like that happens every

information. we're also following a developing story this morning. a man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in southeast d.c. this is cell one video capturing that chaotic scene shortly after police sayy t shot an armed man on first street yesterday. d.rs police offiay they went into an alley and encountered a group of men. the men took off running. during that chase officers say one pulled out a gun, the one you see here, and pointed it at them. officers fired kilng that man. it's unclear if they shot at police. neighbors say they o y heard one set of gunshots. justin finch will have more at the scene cing up at 6:45. >> police foiled a possible terror plotto intende take place at a virginia beach prom. a 17 and 18-year-oldave been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a terroristic act. police were already on guardf becausehreats made against people at that prom. office spotted a suspicious man outside the hotel. when officers approachid he
