schools, they are encouheering all labels, you know, and potential prejudices. it's just about their experience of taking that in. i think every parent, you know, in this case it has to do with gender, but every gender has encountered the fact that their child might be, i as said, vulnerable in some ways. i think specifically it's really kind of universal, too. >> it's a mom and dad story. >> you have a son a aut the of jake. >> i do. >> how much of your own motheringnd parenting did you bring to this? >> i didn't have to look veryr far stretch my imagination too much. i'm a new york m of a 4 1/2-year-old, the time when we filmed the movie. the parallels were overwhelming. in some ways it was harder to play, because it was so relatable personally. my son became really good friends with leo, and they were
