take a look at some of the finest points of this plan here. we're talking about a salsz tax increase on those ride sharing companies from 1% to6%. again, that money would go to pay for metro and dedicated funding. now, the ride sharing companies are saying, shoehold on here. this is a 500% inctaase on the x on us that then goes to pay for metro. they're calling it unfair, unjust, and they are saying this vote, which is coming should be voted down. now, mayor bowser has weighed in on this and wealked with the head of uber one-on-one who says that that price will get passe on. take a listen. >> that is how we are supporting what metro needs and what the tgion needs. the extent that the tax gets passed, it will be a farther price, and itin will ease the price of uber. again, all of this comes up for a vote today with the d.c. ouuncil, and this mean a significant increase for your uber or lyft.
