the their office and shot through the glass window into their offices hitting multiple people and then reloaded andtarted firing again. we know this from the very chilling reports of reporter phil davis who has been tweeting out what happened a he hid under his desk. we aretill keeping an eye on this breaking situation that's happening in anne arundel county. we had word of an active shooter come in. right now we are getting mixed signals about whether or t there haeen a shooterh ehe >>har wns o is on the scene standing y. she has a live interview.
4:01 pm
tracee, who areou with and what can yo tellsnus. >> reporter: i'm with mark who is a spokes person for anne ardel police. i have been speaking with sources close to what's going on and it has been confirmed to me that the shooter is in custody. who the gunman is, what that person's motivation was, the health of that gunman, all of this we do not know. we still don't know anything about injuries inside of the buildiai. stillng for confirmation on that. i can t confirmt sources close to this investigation are saying that the actual gunman is in custody. are going to go live with mark to have a conversation about what you aeral a agerenco working with you guys on that. what can you tell us about what's happening insidehe building? >> we have a very serious situation here. it's 888 bestgate road. we received a report at 2:34 ais afternoon of active shooter situation, reports of multiple gunshot fired,
4:02 pm
possible injuries within the building. officers immediatelsponded along with allied ag cies. we're taking all the support we can. we're currently searchi the building looking for injured persons a the suspect fraer unfortunately i cannot confirm we have the suspect in custody, nor can i confirm the number of alleged fatalities. >> of course, again, mark cannot confirm that information. that mformation is coming t from sources close to this investigation. we're saying this happened inside of "the capital gazette" newspaper office because that is what is being reported by emndoyees at the "gazette" "the baltimore sun" which owns that local paper, but mark is me tellin and you can explain why you are only giving the addresstg for 888 be road, because you're saying there are other offices inside of that building. e> this establishment is saved by multi entities. we don't want to limit it to the
4:03 pm
office. >> this is something that you trained for, something you prepared for. we had that horrible shooting in cher st. mary's a few months ago. >> of course, our patrol officers are the first to respond. they get on scene very quickly. e notify special transportations. we set up a perimeter and we go by the numbers. we seah the buildinn a safe and orderly fashion. ho are uate people inside the building to a safe location. get them we do have a reunification point at lord & taylor inside the mall for oth family members who may be lookin for people in the building. >> we saw people coming out with their hands up. where are those folks now? lord and taylor?
4:04 pm
s, i don't have exact numb but when we evacuate a building we don't know who's who at that point so we epsunsure the safetf the people around us. we eke them out of building into a staging area. we debrief them and then bring them to the reunification point. >> i was commenting earlier how is mall is up and running and it appears that the situation is very contained. just around that building and a wider perime how should the folks who live and operate in this neighborhood perceive that? >> right now it's safe outside the perimeter. very safe area. you can continue to go about your business as long as you're outside the perimeter. we have everything contained. we unfortunately cannot confirm that w have someone in custody. >> a spokes person for the anne arundel county police department here. we're going to continue to follow what's happening here and bring you the latest information
4:05 pm
as soon as we get it. >> your sources are telling you the shooter is in custody and that would be in line with how we are seeing them behave in this building. if the shooter was in that building, they wouldn't be marching the peo e out with their arms up through these parking l p iot vlaniein ow building. >> reporter: right. >> all right. thanks so much, tracee. let's go toom our newsro scott macfarlane is working from there. >> this is happening across the street or close proximity to the mall. they staged their active shooter training at that same mall. thy're used to responding to this area in drill form. this is across the street fthm mall where they train for such thing. always work keeping in mind, of course the home of our state government but there are a l of federal agencies that enforce it f police. th have an office. the atf is there in partecause
4:06 pm
there are federal facilities as part of anrun dale counto you havel police and federal police. those not familiar with the newspaper should recognize it's a major player, but it's a hyper local newspaper. so many newspapers this morning had on the front page the kn knee -- anthony kennedy retirement. the neighborhood community paper circulation of abo 30,000 at the center of a county that is very much a federal place. the fbi is there. the atf is there. our crisis response team from the fbi and the agents from the annapolis office are on scene at the active soter location. leon and wendy. >> thank you, scott.
4:07 pm
if you are just joining us, was 2:34 when the first calls came out. they came from inside that ilding at 888 bestgate road from "the capital gazette" offices, active shoot, please help us. we then heard about an hour later from reporter phil davis who put out these tweets. ere is nothing more terrifying than hearing mul gple people shot while you're under your desk and then hear the gunman in another tweet he talked about -- you want to tell them about that one? h talked about seeing the gunman firing through the glass doors of the newsroom and mu giple people thentting shot and going down. >> it's a chilling tweet from a reporter who is an eyewitness to this. and then he also we are hearing from them thatnef their people was felony orn tako baltimore shock trauma.
4:08 pm
i'm assuming they were felony, they would have to be. >> speaking of flying, brad hase been on scene since shortly after that call came in. brad hustles his way up there and got the first pictures that we saw. he's in the chopper righta now. give us the rundown from your experience of when you first arrived on that scene, what it was like and how it's unfolded andvolved in front of you. >> and how the rhythm has changed over the last half hour. >> that's exactly right. when we first got here, it was chaotic ustling, a bit as weem wipeople with guns and different equipment were running arldund the buig, i'm talking about first responders and police officers that were responding wituns running round the building and setting up a perimeter. it wasn't until about 20, 25 minutes ago that we started seeing people with their hands up that were obviously employees and the concern of course was that there was a suspe among them. as we're going on here, we're
4:09 pm
seeing small groups of people. when i say small, 5 and 10 and up to a dozen. being brought out of the di buil from the south-facing exit of this building 888 bestgate road. this is straight across the street from thell. it's kind of interesting to see the people that are coming out n of the mall, they're starting to gather around the area because this is the first time that they're hearing about what'sheoing on as texit the mall and we're seeing them of stop their cars. there's a lot of confusion as to how to get out of this mall entrance parking lot. all of those people with their hands raised are beingug bhtro south-facing side of 888 bestgate and they're being brought down this stretch of road a into this smaller building, this smaller strip mall that has the first citizens bank and we're seeing them being
4:10 pm
evaluated oi evaluated. as we're moving along here from the initial response and a bit of chaos that was as they were starting to set up the perimeter, we've seen things kind of die down. the body language that i'm seeing from the first responders and the police officers on scene is a little more relaxed. we were pointing out earlier the search dogs that were going around to the cars in the parking lot. a i'm seein bit of a more relaxed, youan kind of see the gate gait of these officers walking arond. there is some hus skptle and bus buthey're bringing groups gut of the building, this exit as they're fac the mall and we're seeing those small groups being brought out and nobody is running, nobody seems hysterical. they're just kind of fing out. indicative of the law
4:11 pm
enforcement moving their way through the building room by erroom, office by off and bringing out these people in small groups. >> brad, we're going to cut you ff because we want to get n to a live news conference and see if we can get more information. >> thank you, everybody. lieutenant frazier. we'll give you the update. >> well, brad was telling us about what he had seen this afternoon. but here's what we do kw. we do know multiple people were shotn the "gazette" office. we knowhis because "the capital gazette" newspaper which is a small local town newspaper there, which is owned by the baltimore sun, they are reporting that on their website as is "the baltimore sun" and rerter phil davis who witnessed this has been tweeting out what it was like being under
4:12 pm
iss desk hearing colleagues being shot and hearing the gunman reload. that is alst a direc quote from his tweet. another titter saying it's that bad. >> he's able to confirm for us what the police are not willing to confirm. they have their own reasons for not doing so. we do know for sure there's confirmation of one person being taken off to baltimore shock tra trauma, but phil davis is reporting he saw multiple shot in that newsroom with the gunman firing through the glass or wall. >> from the hallway into the newsroom.u and also tracee wilkins, who is on the scene and of course tracee is our bureau cheer and prince george's county has a lot of sources. prince george's county is also on the scene helping out with resources with anne arundel county. urces urces, multiple s are telling her the shooter is in custody. anne arundel county will not confirm that, but she has multiple sources on the scene telling her the shooter is in
4:13 pm
custody. >> shet on her way ri now to the media staging area. she's going to check in once she gets more updated informa from there. we just missed that last briefing a second ago. don't know if there's another one scheduled anytime soon. the scene continues to sort of slowly evolve. we're seeing some of these tactical vehicles move out. this is that strip mall area. >> where brad was just talking about. they've beenlowing for the past hour and ashalf or the pt hour that we've been on the air. we've been watching them and brad has been up in the sky for shortly after this happened he was able to get over the scene. we have been seeing them evacuating the building, people with their hands up, going from bestgate, 888, right to that tiny strip mall wherey apparen they are being interviewed by the police. then they are cleared to go to lord & taylor at the mall. the ml is still open. the mall is outside the
4:14 pm
perimeter. going to lord & taylor where they can be picked up by their familie because no o can get their car because the parking lot is still within the perimeter. >> we've been able to recall the taperom that press conference we just missed. let go back and see if we can listen and learn more new information. >> we're asking family and friends to meett the annapolis mall if you need to meet up with a friend or loved one inside that building our reunification has been set up inside the lord & taylor inside annapolis mall. we're asking everyone to respond to lord & taylor. that's the biggest message we want to put out right now. we're doing our very best to get the building secure. we should have information for you very shortly. as soon as that building is secure we'll be able to provide more information. we're ding everything we can to get everybody out safe. >> he didn't take any questions. the're working hard.
4:15 pm
look at all the different resources that have been deployed to this area as you can imagi pe. and we havil davis, the reporter from "the capital gazette", i am currently waiting to be interviewed by police so i'm safe and no longer at the office, which is good to know for phil's loved ones. phil has been giving us an eyewitness account of what this has been like because he saw the shooter shoot through the window and start hitting his colleagues and then he tweeted out that he was under his desk and how chilling it was, terrifying in his words to be under you desk and hearing your colleagues being shot and then hearing the gunman reload. that is a direct quote from reporter phil davis at "the capital gazette". >> he's given us hands down the be information. glad to know he was safe.
4:16 pm
as it happene ad to know he is safe. don't know if he's -- >> he mightb stillthere before they release him. i hope that he is -- i know he' been through a lot, but i hope he's willing to -- maybe tracee get ahold of him and we can hear from him. because of what he has told us, we dot know t one patient was taken to baltimore shock trauma and that the emergency medical services that are on the scene reports confirms there are injuries. that is the most detail we have gotten. >> still watching and waiting to see how soon this scene can be cleared. peoplere now being huddled in the area there and then taken off in groups to another staging area over at that other little strip mall. again, they're all being told eventually they will be inside the lord & taylor at the annapolis mall. >> we have justbc gotten n news,
4:17 pm
our nbc news is reporting that sources tell them the suspect is white male. he is in custody. he used a shotgun to carry out this crime. a white male in cy who used a shotgun to shoot through "the capitagazette" newspaper offices. >> more importantly he's if they have him in custody and we are getting that kind of information, it's clear that he's alive so we have a good chance of learnin why he did s this. ther many questions circling around this, whether or not this was a domestic situation, if this was some sort of disgruntled employee, if there was some other reason, mental illness or whatever. we're going to need to know and i know the peoe who were victimized are going to want to know what happened and why whane haphappened. >> this building, as you can see, it's the building in the upper righ corner of your -- brad just widened out.
4:18 pm
it'shat building. let's go to scott macfarlane on our live desk. he hasomething new. >> these newspapers tend to be in busy areas. if you're on a newspaper,o ou want near things. this is very much near things. it's across the street from the westfield annapolis mall and lord & taylor thetaging area for friends and families. there are medical offices, othea shops in tha. it's a busy space. there are also kids programs. rks and rec tells us they have canceled some of thosera pr. we're told a briefing will happen on the ground in about 15 minutes. we'll get the latest update a about infoon of a possible arrest, the details of which you just alluded to. fbi baltimore and fbi anne arundel county have crisis response teams th but here's help coming from the cetside as well in addition to the county poli department, the prince georges county fire department sent an ambulance bus to support in case there are some number of victims. anne arundecounty's sheriff and fire are on the scene.
4:19 pm
the feds are there. you can look at your scene and see the number of police cruisers. a vibrant response to whats a very v >> as we've just been saying, i live in that area, the mall is one block from there. people were coming out of the mall. this i happened, if you're familiar, nordstrom, people are coming out and not knowing what'sn going because the perimeter is tight and it's a little divorced from the shopping areas there. that'ga huge shoppi area throughout that. there's a huge commercial area and people were comin out and seeing the police cars and then starti starting to go towards the perimeters t see what was going on. >> let go back and see what else missed earlier. >> at this point we believe it is one suspect, but again, that's one of the many things that we haveo go through in our checklist to make sure that
4:20 pm
building is secure. we need to make sure there is just one suspect. we need toake sure there's no other people that are suspects or that helped this individual and we neeur to make there's no type of bombs or anything inside that building. all those things we have to think about to make sure people are safe inside thatuiing. our number one priority and getting people from that builing outside safe and reuniting them with their families. once that building is cure, we can provide more information and the investigation will begin and we'll be able to get a lot more details. >> again, that explains why we saw them going through the ng building, g around with canines, going around the cars and sniffing around the cars.bv usly sniffing for explosives or we hought the scent of someone else. erc news quoting sources as saying this sho is a white male and he used a shotgun to carry out this assault. the assault on "the capital gazette" offices i annapolis in the 888 bestgate road building
4:21 pm
behind the ll. we are hearing one person was tape toaltimore shock trauma. reporter phil davis who witnessed this said the man walkeup, shot through the glass window looking into the newsroom and started hitting people, shooting people. as they all went under tlheir desks, he listed tohem reload. >> i'm being say we cannot say for sure he used a shotgun. they believe he used a shotgun. >> again, this is coming from sources. >> exactly. perhaps we'll get more if we get a chance to see or talk to phil davis. he's been so great at tweetinou the details of information that only he or someone else inside that newsroom who witnessed the whole thing ha first can tell us. perhaps there's more from him. >> hisatest tweet was that now t he was out billing auilding an he was being interviewed by the
4:22 pm
police. you exit this building and go across the sreet to a small shopping center where the businesspo bank is anice are interviewing people there inside the buildingas and relg them to the reunify indication at lord and ta& taylor. the reason they have to do that is they cannot get their cars out of that parking lot. although he is an eyewitness. he witnessed the first shot. he saw the man walk up and according to his tweet and witnessed this according to what he's been tweeting out and hid under his desk as he was, according to him, hearing his colleagu being shot and hearing the gunman reload. when he is t released frhat interview process, we're hoping we hear more from gm. >> he t be needed by more li than one poce agency. the fbi may want to talk to him as well. m aay want to talk to him.o let's getcott macfarlane lck in the newsroom. >> what are weooking at here, oott? >> any number law enforcement agencies in that area with
4:23 pm
aircraft. maryla state police is my first instinct, but the fbi has offices in that area as well an hink we're looking at a possible howard county police aircrolt. so many pe departments in this area have had aviation units because there are so many high profile potentially targets. so not surprised to see they f have aircthat would respond to an active shooter situation. you mentioned this is near a p major sng center, the westfield annapolis mall. a pocket of shopping center. the same mall ae arundel county police used to train for active shooter situation. this is an area the're sensitive to where they know there's a high volume of people and high volume threats. this is an area they're used to training in and today they are responding to. they're getting help froml fede agencies. the atf is there. the fbi fieldffice and anne arundel county are there and some number of anne arundel county sheriff fire and police.
4:24 pm
we expe a briefing in 10 minutes on the ground. the individual you heard from earlier was ryan frazer. he was trying t communicate in his preliminary briefing with ediate information. friends and family, anybody with conections to potentialictims are to gather at the lord & taylor in westeld annapolis. i expect the next briefing will probably update what the current state us of the capital news building is and where the response is. >> the response is actually rippling out of here a the way up to new york. we're just now learning that the nd has gone ahead and contacted news olets in new york out of an abundance of caution. >> and sending policeo the stationing police at news outlets in new york city out of anbundance of caution because "the capital gazette" newspaper was attacked here in annapolis. we're alsott getting a be of how bad that attack was. the anne arundel medical center has now reported it has two patients.
4:25 pm
as we've beenreporting, one patient was flown to baltimore shock trauma. that's three injuries so far from this.il reporter davis, a witness to this, has been tweeting out in the last hour that h wched the gunman shoot, fire through the glass into thero newm from the hallway and then i'mg assumome in and hit people, start shooting people. he was under his desk tweeting out how terrifying it was to re unis desk and listening to colleagues being shot and then hear the gunm. relo he said there were multiple injuries and he wrote it's that bad. that was his tweet. >> we'rei hearing officls weighing in across the area. senator ben dkardon tweeting ou we did get one earlier from governor larry hogan who was saying he was devastated by this
4:26 pm
deadly incident i annapolis. warng people to stay away from the area while police are doing their j here's the tweet we saw just moments ago. devastating. my heart is with capital gazette annapolis.ple of as information continues to come in, i remain as grateful as ever for first responders. if you're le the area,e stay away and sy safe. >> that's what they're asking ople to do,o stay away from the perimeter. it's a fairly small pergiimeter n the size of that area. it's just around this building and within a block arod the building. the small, which is just block and a half away is open and as you just heard the anne arundel county police say, that's where they're sending people to be he picked up by relatives who have been evacuated from this building at 888 bestgate road. >> it may be a small area, but
4:27 pm
as we heard police about what it is they're going through step by step, they are trained to have this methodical approach to make sure the building is clear. they have reasons to believeth 've got to get everybody out safely so they can go through step by ystep, room room to make sure there are no other weapons or accomplices. >> exactly. >> let's go to tracee wilkins. she's there ahead of another media briefing. tracee, what a you seeind hearing now? >> weep want to update, nbc new have it confirmed that they believe the suspect who we reported is in is a white male and may have used a shotgun in this sho. we're going to have more specific details coming from police as you can see here. edia starting to set up and prepare for another briefing we hould be having in a matter of moments.
4:28 pm
anrun dale county working to clear that building, interviewing, asking questions, and of course trying to figure out what sporkarked all of this. that we don't know, what the motive was. what we do know is we're going to be hearing a briefing soon from the police who are going to tell us what we -- fill in all of tese gaps and answer sf these questions. this investigation is early -- in its early stages. yes just beginning. you can see that their policean stding over there, this is the route they took to get the folks in the billing out of the building. there are ambulances lined up as well. we don't have confirmation on the number of inweries. have been hearing from people who were inhe building what it was like, what they heard, hearing the gunman reload, seeing their co-workers shot, but a lot of folks not feel objectiing comfortable what happened with
4:29 pm
those injuries. there were folks hiding, some who ran when they had the opportunity. because we're about to have this presseeiefing, we're across the street and they feel this is contained and under control. in just a few moments, they should be here at the podium to update us on the latest in this investigation and really clear up some of this that we've been trying to figure out. >> tracee, real quickly as you've seen and heard, we're got word from the white house about some details about the shooter and about him being in custody. what are they telling you about the reasons why they cannot confirm to you that they do have someone i custody? >> it's a part of the ongoing process. there are other people inside of that building.y thve to be sure. there are a lot of folks to interview. when folks were coming out, they were coming up with their hands up. you don't know
4:30 pm
there are steps and protocols that don't have to be followed. once that's done we'll get clearances about what we've been soe'rces. >> as seen before, police, when they have something more pressing, which is th t're trying secure a building, they're trying to makeure seven safe, is that hogan? is that the governor? >> it looks like it. ik>> it looks that's the governor. we're seeing this as you're seeing this. governor hogan is on the scene. he works just up the street. the city ck, the statehouse, the state capital, anne arundel medical center, the mall. annapolis not a big area. all of this is in a few blocks. anne arundel medical center just two blocks away says it has two patients from this shooting it
4:31 pm
is caring for and baltimore shock trauma has one and that is three injuries that we know of. reporter phil davis "the capital gazette" who was here and tweeted tformation about gunman shooting through the window of the offices. he was tweeting that out after the gunman was allegedly in custody. he tweeted that out afterwards. we're seeing someone leave in a wheelchair, but they're sitting up and it looks like i may be someone who may not be able to a walk outwell. this again is -- gover mr hogan has arrived on the scene and ibl protalking to people and getting briefed and letting them know h happy h is with our first responders and the hard work theydo. the metropolitan police department, the district police, as we told the new york police nypd has been sendin police t news outlets as an abundance of
4:32 pm
caution because the iewspaper he annapolis was attacked.n metropolitolice here in washington are not commenting on the tactics. we have a lss of pnews offices in this town and we d not know if they are doing the same thing here in this town, but they are doing it in new york city as an abundance of caution. "the capital gazette", a small hometown newspaper attacked this afternoon at 2:30 when a gunman openedfire and hit and injured several people in that office. >> the thing that occurs to me is if they a doing that in new york, i'm just wondering if that shoot did oraid something that would indicate that there is some sort of reason to be concerned about this in other cities or is there some sort of network involved or other things that he knows that that are actually in play? >> it's been two hours.
4:33 pm
the firsn call came at 2:34. it was on twitter a tweet that went out from inside "the capital gazette" office that said active shooter, please help us. that went out around 2:30. that's when the police response began. as you know from previous shootings across our country, we know this dri t all well, at this point we are -- sources are telling us, nbc news sources are ling us a white man is in custody and he may have used a shotgun. they have probab already started looking through his facebook pages, his computer. that's a pretty easy quick thino tohich you were just mentioning why new york is responding as it did because within two hours as they got this shooter incustody, they probably know an awful lot about him. then there's the copy cat
4:34 pm
things. we're a large country with 320 million and not everyone is stable as we know and you never know if someone sheck, you know, and you know, i don't have to finish that sentence. w >> wha're doing right now is still trying to gather more information about how many people may have been involved with this, how many may have been injured. sualties.of the s trauma.son is at baltimore shock again, considering at the time how many people may have been in the newsroomr, if it's this man was firing through the glass, there could be a number of injuries of all kinds. at allvels. >> i would not imagine that that is a large news office. becs iauap aert'ma havlle sbeen condensing, shrinking down in size. that's an office building with a lot of offices. a lot of mical officesre in that building. i would imagine once you've
4:35 pm
penetrated t glass barrier there, it's very easy to target people beause they're kind of just right there in the open. newsroom people are always wide open anyway. they're large rooms. >> as brad was saying a minute ago, wee noticedhat the posture here of police response has gotten dramatically lower. they are not acting in any sort of agitated manner. p we can't seeple coming out of the building, so we can't say for sure whether they've got that process completed, but they are taking people away from this location. if you know someone who works here, they're being told to go over to lord & taylor at the annapolisll and that's where you can reconnect with your friends or loved one there is. s we're noteing people come out of the building, at least i haven't seen any in the last few minutes or so. >> if governor hogan is walking right into the scene as we just saw, that scene is pret
4:36 pm
secure. in fact, let's look at this aga. this is governor hogan just moments ago arriving at the scene to greet officials there and the responders there and to tell them, you know, good job and to give them his support as he did previously in a tweet just about anf hourr this started to unfold. the governor of tweefsing out his support. >> here he is walking up to the media staging area. they're probably just now getting ready to start this media briing and no doubt the governor is going to have some words. >> again, the police have had -- looks like they're ngstar work for the anne arundel county police department. we houe a brief update for guys to give some details. please bear with us. we can't ask a lotfquestions. this is a still a ry active
4:37 pm
and ongoing investigation. we're trying to make sure everyone is safe and reunite with their families. we anticipate this is a long investigation and a very detailed investigation by our detectives. i'd like to intruce first our county executive, ann county executive, steven r. shoe. we're gong to limit qions at this time for investigative purposes because we still have a lot of work to do. thank you. >> thank you, officer. i'm county executive steve shoe of anne arundel county. we've had a terrible shooting incident here this afternoon. there are several people who have died from this incident and several others are thjured. se who are injured have been transported for medical care to cal center and to johns hopkins shock trauma those fatalities are so sad and
4:38 pm
i don't. what to say other than our ith ghts and prayers are them and their families and we take comfort knowing they near god's embrace. the shooter is in custody and aing interrogated this time. i want to commend the public safety professionals who were very quick tohe scene here within about 60 seconds and we've had a tremend not only from anne arundel county police and fire, annapolis city police and fire, but also state police, howard county, prince george's, several federallu agencies ing fbi and atf. i want to thank all those agencies for their quick response and being our partners in this very fortunate incident. i'd like to ask governor hogan to say a few words. >> thanks. i just want to say first o all our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. i want to thank the law enforcement professionals w responded, our emergency id response teamn incredible job.
4:39 pm
they're still doing the job right now. the fact they responded within 60 seconds, i want t give serious praise to anne arundel county and the city of annapolis for their response and we were here with the state agency to back them up. we have federal agencies. it's a tragic situation. we c -- we don't have all the information yet and we can't mation yet e inf because it's an active crime scene and investigation, butade have several fatalities and hospital.ople in the we'll just leave it to the professionals to continue their ongoing investigation. [ inaudible questi >> i'm going to take this opportunity to introduce our acting chief who will answer in -- some questions. it will be very brief. we want tomake sure the
4:40 pm
