what happened here today. th suspect jarrod ramos was in court as you kno s appearance in court earlier today was byteleconference. he was ordered without bond which was no surpr the police still have a lot of questions because he is still not cooperating with them. the chief of policeaid that gunman was there to, quote, kill as many people as he could.st inators are calling this a coordinated attack that included, and this was so chilling, heba barricaded th door of the "gazette" offices before he came in andmbhed the people with the attack through the front. one othe employees tried to escape through the back and couldn't and was shot. we've also learned that the 12-gauge pump-action shotgun was used. it was legally purchased a year ago. in the meantime, the front page of the newspaper shows peopledi

contacting all my family members. we are back at 4:30 with our top story this afternoon. the deadlyin sho rampage at the capital gazette. wendy. >> i just a gentleman walk through the parking lot with a flowers.f there's so many flowers over there now and some little notes and nat town strong. you are hard pressed to find "the capital gazette" today. they're sold out across the city. i had to gets from a girlfriend of mine who has a subscription. that's howmportant this event has been and that's how important it is to this town. this is a small town newspaper. it talks about events here in the greater annapolis area that impact people here and anything from what'sappening in the state to someone's recipe. it is about ourhometown. and today president trump, who

and why the suspect was upset with the newspaper and how the staff there tried toso keep thing like this from happening. investigative reporr jodie fleischer joins us now from the live desk with what she's learned. lots of red flags here jodie. >> absolutely. i spoke atr leength with the retired editor. he told me jarrod ramos haded threatim and another reporter for years and they were afraid of what could happen. thom thas said this started with an article that was published back in 2011 after he pled guilty. ramos was angry about the article and sued for defamation. the paper won the case but it dragged on for years with appeals. the editor says he andis staff never met ramos in person but ngfinitely felt threatened. there were a online posts and digital threats about the newspaper and maryland judges for years. he it made me feel uncomfortable enough to go to police and ask for an investigation.

. a frightening commute home tuesday night. man pointed his gun at her in a fit of road rage and then he followed her home. thanks to the help from her boyfriend, that suspect is now behind bars facing multiple charges. bureau chief julie carey reports from haymarket which is where the suspect was caught. >> reporter: it started out as a normalommunity home along route 15. tiffany on the home stretch in her daily drive. buthere was a guy in a pickup behind her later identified as jason heath, he was tailing her reg his engine. she spoke to us describing the moments. >> he begaut swerving in and of traffic and i tried to get away from him. >> the pickup eventually pulled
