"capital gazette" ed toward gerald fishman remembered as a mentor and a loyal friend. he was part my family. i only had seven people at my wedding and he was one o them. >> reporter: wendy winters, a communy reporter who often volunteered in her neighborhood leaves three daughters behind. >> i miss her very much. this is a senseless tragedy and i have to live life now without my mother.

what about the karols themselves? nbc stephanie gosk has more on all of it. >> reporter: former gymnastics doct and convicted six abuser larry nassar is already spending the rest of his life in prison, but this morning he faces new criminal charges. >> it's the right thing to do because these victims deserve to be heard because they deserve justice. >> reporter: texas prosecutors are charging nassar with six counts of sexual assault of a child. the crimes allegedly taking place at the karolyi ranch, used as a train fg center usa gymnastics and run by acclaimed coacs bela and marta karolyi. the couple said they first learned the of the abuse allegations when media reports surfaced in 2016. this memorning, law enfor officials say there is no evidence the karolyis committed any crime, leaving some of nass's accusers frustrated. >> in my heart, i don't believe that the karolyis should just go on their merry way and be able
