it was a violent night in the district. take a look at the map here. all of these scenes are just from the past 12 hours. >> we're talking eight people shot, three people stabbed. news 4 is live with the latest on af these investigations. justin? >> erica, aaron, good mornin we're here in southeast where the tape is now down from police but the fstrations are not. i spoke with several neighbors who were venting to me about their concerns about gun crime happening so close to their s, ho especially on a hot day. after all, they say children play on this block. but overnight, it was police who took over this block from overnightg.nto the morn again, the 500 block of newcomb street. police say three people were shot, one, a man found unconscious and not breathing. one woman who was conscious and a man, a sond man who was grazed to his chest. we were watching as police

gathering clues, talking to witnesses. and even towing away a car near the scene where neighbors tell me that one of the men was found buthis was not the only shot. violent incident that police were looking into here on the fourth of july. i want to take you now to a map that we're showing you again here which shows just around the corner from newcomb over on malcolm x avenue, three more people were shot. one a man who was unconscious. a woman was grazed and one a man who was foundconscious. and then in northeast, another incident. this one w a stabbing on the 4500 block of benning road where ree men were stabbed, all conscious on. an arrest was made in that and over on the 1100 block of 40th place, also in northeast, another shooting, this time two people shot. one a juvenile male. a young man and a seconda perso, woman. the good news is both were conscious at lt check from police. now back out live as you mentioned, eight people shot gh

over one just a young man. three stabbings as well. a very violentnight. the fourth of july here in d.c. does have a bit of an unfortunate reputation. this time last yearix people were shot. one person stabbed. and one of those pple did die from their injuries. again, police now investigating several shootings across d.c. one of them here on newcomb street in southeast. in southeast, justin finch, news 4. back into. we have new video this morning of what d.c. fire officials say was one of several fires they fought overnight. in this video, you can see blames bursting out of this dumpster. is was along randolph place in northwest. this is a reminder to only purchase legal fireworks. fire officials say when you're done with the fireworks, you should leave them alone for about ten mutes and then submerge them in water. a man in an arundel county is treated for catastrophic injuries caused byllegal

out the rain and look at the second part of you holiday weekend coming up in just a moment. back to you. so third street southeast io ban after a water main break. take a look. d.c. water crews had to dig up the street in order to repair that pipe. once the six inch pipe was replaced, crews had to repave that road. water service has also been restored to the homes and businesses affected in that area. this year's fourth of parade in annapolis honored the five peoplkilled in the "capital gazette" shooting. cheers t echoedoughout the parade route. some marched in solidarity with them. many visitors also brought balloons and flowers to a memorial for those killed. >> such a trage that it is hard to celebrate sometimes. >> for me, it makes it sadder. the community com together and everyone will celebrate and honor t victims and hopefully their families. >> the deadly shooting happened

a show that is about politics and we're in the epcenter of. that we get to go to all the historical sites as a cast.'s very fun and feels like home here for me. s being lked about t about comedy and this is your opportunity to laugh and reminisce a little bit. so obviously we know that we are in the seat of politics in d.c. why else do think is good for audiences here in d.c. to go and enjoy? >> for a few reasons, i think. first ofall, to see a new show that's being developedishere. s our out of town tryout. it's a very exciting thing to see great people. we haven incredible creative team doingomething fresh and new. mistakes happen. we come here because washington, d.c. is a great theater town and we know that audiences here appreciate their culture. they love their theater. they're really important theaters here and the actors know that as well. thehather element brings people in to this show is that it's very much a fairytale.
