bear story like this before where the bear get out of the tree and makes a mad dash and it was quite incredibl and some of the people out here were kind of scared to see the little come out and run across the yards and across the street. this all unfold rht here in the tree behind me in these yards. it started right around 1:00 this afternoon. we've been here a day,ike you said, and chopper 4 up in the air, so there's a lot o video ofhis, but it took a long time to get him down. of the ow you the video very end of this. you see the bear climb dn out of the tree. it happened very suddenly. authorities were here and they we in place and ready. they already hit them with a tranquilizer hgun, but suddenly decided that he was going to make a run for it, and that's what he a did,nd he ran across the yard,os rans the street here into some oth yards and then towards the prce william parkway, and i can tell you there were people out here who werng screa some people were running for cover when once they realiz,

say that this is the face of the attacker. news s meagan fitzgerald joins us live to explainia y these cae s appear torelated. meagan? >> reporter: well, yeah, so leon, police tell that is two of the three cas are connected through dna, but all three cases, what they have in common is that these women would get ostomy tree here at the twin wook station andld be on their way before they would be violently attacked. >> we had a total of three cases. one rape, an attempted rape, and then ultimately rape and murder of another female. >> reporter: montgomery county police want you to take a good look at i theseges and the last what they say a serial rapist andr murde looked like in the early '90s. a newly created dna shows what they think he looks like now. police say it started in 1989 when this suspect sexually assaulted a woman in rockville. five years later in september

1994 police say he tried to rape a woman w while she walking home on twinbrook parkway.ay investigators she was able to fight him off, but he left this yellow flashlight behind. two weeks later -- >> i remember coming home that evening, and there were, you know, cop cars. >> reporter: police say that same suspect targeted this 42-year-old woman who was a researcher at children's spital and was walking home from work. >> when your next door neighbor gets muered, that'sretty unsettling. >>eporter: it's been nearly 24 years, but neighbors who live on rookville willin never forget the day she was murdered. >> i have two little girls and shocking to us. >> reporter: police say the suspect attacked and assaulted the woman before she could enter her home. her body was found days later in a wooded area in h backyard. >> i always wonder if the there.r is still out >> reporter: police have been trying to solve these crimes for

handled now in juvenilrt as a hearing is set for next month. because he is a juvenile. news 4 is not naming m. it just about 4:00 in the morning right now in thailand and aittle bit later from now rescuers will be going back to try to free the remaining four boys and a coach who have beepe tr in that cave for more than two weeks. this weekend the rescue teams managed e gets eight of boys out safely. this is an extremely difficult operation, even for the most experienced divers. one of the rescue team divers spoke with the "today" show about the conditioin they are dewith. >> it's hard to medicate and unless you have artificial lights with you, and it requires a lot of training, and it's still dangous, even for the best cave divers, so it's a major challenge. it's to make sure that these kids don't start to panic.

"capital gazette" shooting rampage. friends and family will be remembering sportseporter john mcnamara at the university of maryland. mcmara grew up in bethesda. he was 56 coo years old and became one of five employees shot and killed at the annapolis newspaper shot and kille on ne 28th. the search is on for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run traveling on the wrong side of the interstate in arlington. a viewer snapped this photohat you see here. this is the scene on sunday. police say they are looking for 28-year-old victor ebay of springfield, virginia.
