my kind of guy. the long time capital gazette repo ter was killed int newsroom rampage in annapolis. this week family and frids me together and remembered mcnamara at a memorial service at the university of maryland. news 4's chris gordon was there. >> reporter: john mcnamara is ,emembered for being devoted to his famiis writing, and his friends. >> everybody loved johnar mcn as soon as you met him, immediately you knew this is my kind of person. >> reporter: mcnamara was killed four of his colleagues at the "capital gazette" shootings on june 28th. paulas gillespie in the newsroom during the shooting rampage. >> we lost john as well as mhe family members at the capital. tragic. you know, it's a huge hole in our hearts. you know,s going to be hard to fill. i don't know if we'll ever fill it. >> reporter: at tths service at university of maryland memorial chapel, one of mcnamara's friends said journalism is under sge. >> by raising your hand, how

five new gates, food and retail space as well as more rt rooms. prot jekt nee che project needs approval from the board of puborks. it was a scare and spectacle in a virginia neighborhood this week for t hoursre a black bear was engaged in a standoff with police before he made his escape. this happened behind homes on kenltling drive in woodbridge. darcy spencer was ere. >> reporter: news 4 was there as the bear quickly climbed down the tree and took off across yards, acrosst the str towards prince william parkway. people here in the neighborhood were panicking. >>o inside. >> reporter: eventually he was captured. authorities watched him for th hours plannin strategy to get him down. he was eventually shot with a tranquellizer gun. he stillung out in the tree for a while as authoritiesried coax him down then suddenly he made his move. >> with all the construction around here is causing animals no refuge, no where to go. so what they're doing is com og ou their home and to our
