now. this is the weapon police say they recovered from that suspect. i can tell you, we' four hours into the investigation and while theye gathered a lot of information from witnesses, one thing they don't have right now is a motive. we're told by police a manho was not an employee of that liquor store was shot and killed by the suspect, an officer with robbery suppression team was he the are for an unrelated issue. was at the traffic light here when he heard the shots, saw the commotnn and t got out to see what was going on. that's when we're told that suspect allegedly ran toward him with a gun, ignored commands to stop and the officer fired his weapon. we'll get you to some sound right now from the police chief. let's listen. >> at this tpoint, we kn suspect fired several times and we have several shell casings from that weapon. we also recovered tha the body of our suspect. a

not clear at this point what prepitated the confrontation between our murder victim and our suspect, but we have more than two dozen witnesses to this, and in addition, we have video from some of the businesses in proximity to this event. >> reporter: all cght. the polief saying that they are corroborating through the witnesses and the surveillance videot exactly w he shared with us this taking a as you're live look here at oxon hill road and livingston road. this is a very busy shopping center area. i can also tell you, according suspect in this case is known to authorities. one thing police do confirm and point out is that right now they are not investigating this as robbery. they are still trying to determine exactly what led up to the initial homicide that happened inside that liquor store. the officer involved in the

slapping,ll of it caught on tape. these are close-up pictures of suspects wanted for an assault and attempted robbery of a wig store in silver spring. >> trying to get these people off the street. >> correct. we're asking for the public's help. think this i good video of the suspects. asking anyone with information the ease come forward to police department. >> reporter: police say these three suspects tried to steal someigs. they say two employees tried to stop them and violent.ot ugly the suspect in the green shirt pepper sprays the employees. then came a fight that spilled down the aisle of the store. two men hitting each other with wigs. a woman omployee ends upn the ground. police say this happed last friday at ester's shop on georgia avenue.

that planef full passengers plunging to the ground and bursting into flames. everyone makes it out alive. now we have new video of the shear panic inside that plane. we also have a warning. the video is disturbing to watch. this aeromexico flight had just taken off in bad weather yesterday. a passeer on board was recording the moment the plane tarts its descent back to the ground. you can hear the babies crying but you can hear the passengers terrified, screaming. then the plane smacks into the ground belly-first into a field just beyond the runway. more than 100 people, including the crew, just hadon s to get out before that jet burst into flames. one passenger from the chicago area spoke to the "today" show this morning, recounting that moment of impact. >> we were bracing for impact. once the actual plane stopped, we could see the flames on either side of the engines, obviously, because we hit the

around the teen and reaction fromwngeorgeto >> reporter: by just about anyone's standards, seth owen was a standout high school student. m ias the co-vladeck torn, captain of the sam. >> reporter: georgetown offered the teenager a partial scholarship, but last year owen's father was looking through his phone and found a picture that made him realize his son is gay. >> it wasn't anything inappropriate. >> reporter: owen's parents are strict christians and sent him to theirhurch for conversion therapy. after owen said the therapy didn't change his sexuality, they hold him he h to moveut and pay for college on his own. >> letting me walk out the erdo, they saying, we don't care where you're staying, we don't care whether you're safe. our religious beliefs are no important. >> reporter: owen found himself unable to pay the $22,000 a year the georgetown scholarship didn't cover so he appealed to the city to reconsider his status and grant him a full

says you should be wary of what you read. >> i'd say billions of people are being tricked by these reviews. reporter: uncovered an entire industry aimed at fooling you with phony reviews using celebrity photos. businesses offering refunds to remove negative reviews and companies willing to write positive reviews for a price. the federal trade commission says it's illegal to post reviews that are misleading, fake or don't disclose a relationship between the customer and the business. google and yelp both use automated systems to detect such fraud. >> the consumer alerts program lets consumers kno that the are attempts to mislead them. >> reporter: jordan says yelp issu more than 600 consumer alerts last year for businesses identified as having suspicious reviews, caught by its filter. now he says there are 150 more, including homensad senior care in annan dale,>> virginia. we found an unusually high amount of positive reviews coming from the sam ip address.

>> reporter: that warning now pops up on yelp when you look up reviews for the company. check out what the iteam found when we searched on google reviews. multiple comments posted from people with the same last name ound the same last time. including this one wfi wrote the ofce staff is very caring. she's listed on thecompany's website as its bookkeeper. the iteameaed out to home instead and spoke with the vp of operations, andrew butler, who said he had no comment. but reviews by a number of people with the last name butler also appea on the site. their first names match andrew butler's relatives. when the iteam asked, botler would confirm if they were related. >> the reasont ght not be recommended is it might be fake, it might be bias. >> reporter: yelp says the consumer alerts will remain on its website for the next 90 days. ad it doesn't mean that a company is this is simply a warning to consumers.
