alert. ood warnings around our area after the heavy rains came down this afternoon. t take a lookis. you can see the radar behind us. it's still quite busy. lots of colors on things and lots of colors going on. on the roads here's what's going on. this is what it looked like on the g.w. parkway between the airport and 395. heavy rain once again creating quite a miss. amelia draper is joining us from the storm center. >> well, wendy, we' see this pattern break down over the weekend. the next week a few chances in the coming days. these warnings will go until 8: into parts of fauquier and parts of alexandria and the district and prince george's county. all these areas in green are heder a flood warning. you can see heavy rainfall that prompted the flood warnings is now mainly along and east of

i-95 with areas over the bay. downhrough anne arundel and calvert and charles and st. mary's county under t gun with some lightning and issues with area roads, flooded roads being reported in parts of fauquier and prince william counties. never drive through a flooded roadway. wendy, this isn't it. the there is more rain south and westehat could m through overnight tonight and heavy rain once again tomorrow. more on the timing coming up at 5:15. >> thanks, ameln. >> a north virginia family is facing a devastating loss. a little girl killed while she slept and a tree fell on her. this happened at a neighborhood that's just outside of warrenton and it happened during last night's storm. as our bureau chiefulie carey reports, this incident has left even the first responders shaken. >> 10-year-old lydia gergos was just getting ready to start the fifth grade and loved softball and described by a team mom as

full of life and now teammates, classmates and a family devastated by an unimaginable tragedy, lydia's blue bedroom crushed. the 911 called came in around 10:25 p.m. in the midst of a thunderstorm. a tree fell trapping agehild. emy crews arrived quickly. >> the tree are fallen through the rf, through the ceiling on to the bed and pinned her, and they tried franticallyha everything tt they could to try t free the victim and couldn't. >> reporter: the little girl was pronounced dead, her disaught rents had to be escort out of the house for fea it would collapse. it took a special tactical unit from nearby prince wiloam countyhore up the structure and remove the tree. first responders shaken by the call and taking time to pay respect as lydia's body was removed and driven away. >> there was a tribute after the victim was removed from the house at the first responders as they lined the driveway as she rss brought out. >> reporter: neighay the

family had only been in the home for a short time. moving inarlier this summer from another neighborhood in warrenton. residents here on high meadow place just getting to know the little girl. they are now mourning r loss. this mom's 10-year-old had played with the victim and asked we only use her voice. >> my heart breaks both as a mom to have to go through something like that, but definitely having met her a few times. she's very sweet girl. >> reporter: already neighbors are planning a way to show their care an concern for victim's family. in warrenton, julie carey, news >> friends of the family have set up a gofundme account to help that family. search memorial fund in our nbc washington app. we also have breaking news. there is an amber alert this evening for a child who was kidnapped from reagan national airport. virginia state police say 12-year-old jin jing ma was

taken by an asian woman possibly 40 years of age wearing a black dress. ney were last s leaving the airport. news 4's shomari stone is at reagan where we're expecting a live update from airport officials and anyone with information contact theme opolitan washington airport authority. now to union station. an amtrak train derailed outside today with nearly 200 people o board. everyone is okay, but the passengers were stuck on that train for over an hour after it happened. tr asportation reporterm tuss is at union station and has had a chance to talk wit some of those passengers. i'm going to guess they were pretty freaked out, adam. >> reporter: absolutely. a scary situation, leon, as you can imagine. as far as delays are concerned, we're still seeing residual delays after this incident which happened just after noon, especially for train ssovice h of d.c. vre riders you're being asked to check your schedules. as for the incident itself, you can imagine were some tense moments on board that

train, but it really depends who you talk to. some say there was panic and calm. say there was the train almost to union station, and that's when it happened. >> all we heard was a loud noise and then we fel it and then he stopped and the fire department and everybody stormed the train. people were freakin out wondering what was going onnd that's when the conductor told us to stayyt calm. evng is fine. >> reporter: according to d.c. fire and ems the lead engine t thein had one set of wheels get off the track. it happened i t anel below union station about a football field envelope awa from the platform and the train had made its way all ay from new orleans. >> i was standing up getting my asggage down and almost lost my balance, but that about it. >> reporter: all passengers reported to be okay, but what went wrong here? amar sa amtrak says it's inspecting all went wrong. >> it's all under investigation.

lines. u.s. capol police say there is no link to terrorism in this. ca and alcohol may have contributed to a deadly n hit-and-rash on the beltway last night. maryland state police say it happened nearooheow wilson bridge. two men were pulled over on the shoulder. they were having car trouble. investigators say another driver in the northbound lane hit them both and hit their. c one of the men, christian guerrero, was killed. police cautht up wit hit-and-run driver and have not identifi charges have not been filed. police say that this is the weapon that a man had when an off-duty prince george's county police officer shotle and k him yesterday. that officer had heard some shots when he came across a man who investigators say just murderered a pers murdered a person inside a liquor store. news 4's megan fitzgerald has more on this r:se. >> reporolice say

25-year-old ronald whitfield imew david hall, the suspect who shot and killed in this liquor store over my shoulder here. we had an opportunity to speak withwhitfield's friend and family members and say they have no idea why anyone would want to kill him. >> this is one of myigst brothers. he lived in the neighborhood with all of us. >> reporter: jeriah say the 25-year-old whitfield was describe as kind. >> crazy, crazy, he told me to be safe. that was it. >> reporter:hat was wednesday just after noon at this exxon station. an hour lar. >> it kills me, like, there's so much -- there's so much pain, so much pain. reporter: policeay 27-year-old david edward hall walked into this liquor store and shotnd killed whitfield who had just made a purchase. prince george's county police chief hankra wye nski says

tomorrow will be during the afternoon, and especially during the evening hours. sheena is really going to break that down hour by hour coming up right around 5:45. as we look to the weekend though after a chance for showers early saturday it's looking mainly dry. here's the latest on storm team 4 radar. i'm startingou off in charles and st. mary's county where we just had some scattered showers outhe there. ing further north, notice some thunderstorm activity still in parts of neanu' hearing this thunderstoing over the bay. in the district dry and almost completely dry in all of the beltway. if you're headingff towards the beach, dealing with very heavy rainfall right now. notice though more rain west of i-8 is, so ther i-81, so there's still going to be showers out there this evening and overnight hours. these showers simpacting now

helping clear debris from the chesapeake bay and the shores in that area. at the height of the summer season, area beaches have been closed to swimmers. news 4's chris gordon is live in bay ridge, one ofany community beaches in annapolis. ris, how is itooking out there? ♪ >> reporter: these sisters share a lot of sam interests, music, helping others, even shopping on amazon. as a prime member so it was shipped for free i andt was so quick and could i get on my computer and just get whatever i needed that quick. one day recently shaina saw a friend's facebook post warning about unauthorized charges involving wells fargo and amazo amazon. >> and i said to my sister i wonder if that's a thing, we should check and we checke sure enough. she found hundreds of dollars, and i thought, oh, maybe i should check, and i found almost $200 worth of these little tee charges you would never notice. >> reporter: the b sistersh have wells fargo debit cards and each had unauthorized charges to amazonatg back months. >> these are small enough harges that they were easy miss. >> reporter: absolutely. >> absolutely.

account and sound the alarm at the first sign of anything suspicious. >> if you were careful and looked at your checking account and reconciled like you are rpposed to, you would notice it. orter: check your account right now. if you notice any fraudulent charges call theank media. in one sister's case she nearly lost $500 bec se thebank's policy is to only reimburse customers for fraudulent transactions that occurt in the fi0 days. you're asking about that, right, so it's up to u to catcht in the first couple of months. amazon though agreed to reimburse her for the charges that the bank would not. it's interesting. uawhen we ay did the story this morning, did a little preview on the morning show, we started g e-mails from people saying sign me up. this is happening to me as well. i'm sure we'll hear from more people. >> fargo said there was a fraud bu a no breach yet they got the people's numbers.
