>> the paper says that because of metro's chronic safety issues, it's t only transportati transportation -- i warranted the system could be shut down and chained barriers to keep people from entering the system. this is only a plan and not likely to go into effects any time soon. the utwn would last as long as necessary and federal officials would be called in to oversee the work. the post reports that until regulators are satisfied, federal fundingeould even with held from the transit system. we have reached out to metro to get a response, but so far we have not heard back. this morning we are learning that there will be no special trains and no policess according tos for next weekend's unite the right rally.

developing this morning out of princgeorge's county, a man was killed after being hit by a car on route 202. this happened just before 11:00 last night. police say a man was crossing the roahe at the time and driver of the car that hit him did stay on the scene to cooperate with responding officers, that victim's name has not been released. aouble shooting investigation happening in rockville. two men i found shoide a car. one man died on the scene, the other is said to be in grave condition. policeal received a yesterday afternoon. the car was at a park and rid't lot that doeeem to be operational. and happening now, we know that d.c. police are vestigating a series of sexual offenses allommitted the same night, possibly, they say, by the same guy.>>

off. in each case, the descripti is very similar and police are working on the assumption that this may behe same person. they described this individual as a white male with an athletic build, 25 to 35 years olds, 6 no foot, to 6'2". he was wearing dark shorts and running police want anyone's help if anyo thinks they have seen this person or had something similar happen and not reported it. sometimes these things start off with what are called misdemeanor offenses but they can turn into certainly something more serious which is why police want to find him. developing this morning meanwhile, in venezuela, president niolas meduro says he has survived an assassination attempt. this is a video showing the moment when all this happened. you can see the crowd running
