injuries are minor. we will connue to follow this story and you'll see updates on the washington, d.c. app. a young father was gunned wn as children played outside. >> news4's megan mcgrath is live at prince george's county police headquarters. megan, what do we know about the victim right now? >> reporter: well, he was the father of an ld11-month son and also getting ready to move to china to play basketball. the 23-year-old lamontdair jr.'s future was cut short by a gunman on wednesday afteoon. was right around 4:00. broad daylight. children were out and about i playin the street. adair was headed to a trainssg n that's when he was shot to death on grieg street. police are looking for help for locating that aispect. lived with his mother and was moving overseas next month. his mom spoke to news4 and she

shot the victim outside of a mcdonald's around 2:00 yesterday. officers track him just miles away from the mcdonald's that's where they say he took his own life. the victim's name has not been released. we're told she and ellis knew each other. condition.critical >> a heads-up, d.c. police a fake ube driver is robbing riders. theyni say on saturday mng, the victim called an uber and got into the car. the driver forced the victim to withdraw money from several different atms. police believe the men and woman are connected to at least three robberies. most happened along the busy u street corridor. well, it's been almost one year since the deadly unite the right rally in charlottesville. >> the cities have declared states of emergencies as events are planned both charlottesville and here in our area.

new news4's justin finch is there. >> reporter: rnn, good g. we do know that freedom plaza will be a counter protest. the national park service is processing a permit for about eo 1,000e to gather in this area and then march their way sunday over to lafayette square. and the rally is taking place in front of the white house. and d.c. police are sayg that is is something that they can handle. now, part of their plan will be to keep those groups separate. chief peter newsham did outline at plan in a closed-door meeting with district council. afterwards, he did speak with reporters saying they will not be escorting those unite to right ralliers. one will not prioritize group over another but they will allow the protest. the chief said the goal is to eliminate outcomes like last year's chaottesville rally where a woman was killede. ther

playi ing basketball overseas we cut short. someone shot and killed him in broad daylight. now, his family wants answers. >> news4's megan mcgrath is live outside of prince george's county police headquarters. megan do police have leads on this? >> reporter: n a lot too on at this point. the person who fired those deadly shots still on the loose and there's no word on a motive on this case. but a very sad story. he was the father of an 11-month-old son about to move to lochina to play basketball. it was just before 4:00 in the afternoon. so, we're talking about broad daylight. children were out and about playing in the stets. adair was headed to a training session and that's when he was shot to death on grieg street in seat pleasant. the killer still on the large.
