eisenhower avenue between metro avenue and clermont drive. eun? >> melissa, thank you. your time is 6:02. breaking news right now out of prince george's county where a i -involved shooting has turned deadly. >> happened last night in landover and megan mcgrath is live at police headquarters with the latest on this. gan? >> well, this all began with a tip that came in to prince george's county police from a confidential informant saying that a man with a gun was selling drugs and terrorizing people in the neighborhood. that according to police. now,pecial operation narcotic divisions along with the emergency services team responded. that's when they located the suspect who was carrying this gun that you see here in this photo b surrounde police tape there on the grass. that was found on the scene. it was a unormed member of the emergency services team that approached the uspect on

sheriff road. he police say the man, though, about 25 yards before beingo sted by that officer. there was a struggle. ppe police chief stawinski describes what ed next. >> observed that individual with a handgun and that individual reached for the hand tn. thied to prevent him from accessing it and pointing it at them. n thaprocess, one of the officers perceived it to be a direct threat >> that prince george's county officer fired at least three rounds. the suspect was transported to the hospital wre he later died. no word on his identity at this point. back to you. >> all right, megan mcgrath have for us, thank you. an update to a fredericksburg mcdonald's.

kentroyia fletcher. anthony ellis shot fletcher and then sped off in a stolen truck. a few hours later police found hied in a wood area miles away from therestaurant. officers say he shot and killed himself. a woman is fighting for her life this morning after making a desperae escape from her boyfriend. the charles county sheriff office said he shot hers rday at an apartment complex in waldorf. the woman's child was found unharmed in the apartment. the boyfriend was found in the strwell of the apartment unite the right rally here in our area. police are implementing security measures and warn that violence will not be tolerated in the district. determined to avoid scenes l s like this one.a thally turned violent and one woman was run over by a car. those attending the rally will

they were able to locate the suspect in the area. and take a look at this, they at say that t man was carrying this gun that you see in this picture. this picture released by police overnight. now, as uniformed prince george's officers approached they say the manan and they were able to stop him. but in the struggle, the suspect reached for a gun. the officer then fired at least th rounds. the suspect hetransported to hospital later died. now, last night, speaking out to the press, police chief hank stawinski said the suspect was a threat and may have also been involved in other crimes. >> so, my understanding from this confidential informant is this individual is known to be rmed and known to be selling drugs and may be, again, preliminary, from my community, may be involved with another group of people committing a series of robberies in the areao >> in addition to the gun, police say that they recovered cash and drugsscon the e.

personnel and existing programs underneath this space force but also create this new elite joint team of fighters, space war fighters that would be the equivalent of the navy.e.a.l.s or green berets, for example. the space force would be the equivalent of the navy or the air force and the first branch of the military since the air force split off from the ay back from 1947. so, yes, a big deal. two questions foryou, what does it cost? that is something everybody asks. the administration i asking for $8 billion from congress over the next five years. but the pentagon says that may end up being just the beginning. they don't have a f estimate right now. the second part of it, the time line. when will this be up and running. the administration wants itng gy 2020. that's their goal. but, remember, congress has to approvefo space force b it can actually go into reality. so, it's still not clear whether or not there is support for that over on the hill. we'll be finding out soon,
