more intense as we go throughout the day. we've got rainy pattern over the next couple days. we'll time out the rain for today, for tomorrow and talk about when we dry out and heat up. we'll talk about ha in about 15 minutes. >> uren, thanks. following a developing story out of washington state. airline officials say a plane mechanic stole an airliner and diedurg a joy ride last night. the plane crashed on a small island mere theai ort. the mechanic has been identified as a 29-year-old employee for horizon air. witnesses s the airport -- say the man took a small plane, ignored the control tower, took off. all other flights in and out seattle sea-tac air port. a local sheriff said the mechanic's lack of flying skills ultimately caused that krarn.

final preparations are under wayor tomorrow's white supremacist rally right outside the white house. d.c.ay officialshey're trying to avoid deadly violen that broke out last year. o organize unite the right have a permit to rally. at least five groups of counter protesters plan to rally and march outside lafayette square. authorities are ramping up securi to get both sides apart. one top d.c. official will not be in town. that's d.c. mayor muriel bowser, e's goingorward with a long-planned trip to el sa ador. >> i will make a designation that the city administration makes the decisions i'm not able to make. but i shoulday that we -- i will -- if i think i need to be here, i'll be here. >> president trump isn't expected to be in town either trump aying at the national golf course in new

in nsdowne. his name is corporal geoffry benson. on thursday, thatnit looking for gregory campfield, junior. neighbors said he was dealing drugs and robbing people. officers tried to arrest him when theyay he reachedor a gun on his waistband. corporal bson shot him. campfield died at the hospital. drugs,ives say they found a gun and cash all hanging out on scene. new twist surrounding the death of a university of maryland football player. several members of the school's athletic departmentow on administrative leave. 19-year-old jorrn mcn was an offensive lineman. he was sent to the hospital after a practice in may and died in june. the sports hired a sports to cine consulting firm conduct an investigation. the firm will determinef the school followed proper protocol. they said, quote, we will be able to s gak inater detail

two men charged i a deadly warehouse fire in california tried to enter a plea deal. the judge is like, no, that's definitely not happening. she rejected the plea deal because 36 people died inhe re back in december of 2016. yesterday she said derick almena didn't show remorse for his involvemeat. the plea called for both to be sentenced to less than ten years in prison each. prosecutors say the two turned the warehouse int a residential death trap. they clammed the warehou with knickknacks and blocked exits. almena's attorney says he'll take thease to trial. a jury ruling that chemical mpany monsanto will have to pay almost $300 million to a mai with tl cancer. the san francisco jury sided

an incredibly painful remembrance is hap today. it's been a year since a white supremacist rally erupted into violence in charlottesville. >> one of the survivors is a woman from northern virginia. now only on news 4, she's teing the story of her recovery and renewed determination to bureau chief julie carey. a she'sed us to partially shield her identity. >>eporter: it's a terrifying scene of violence replayed around the world as a white supremacist plowed through a crowd of counter protesters in

charlottesville. lisa was in the middle of that crowd. >> when i was hit, i had no idea what was going hon. rd screaming that sounded different from the rest of the day. i was beginning to think, should i run, and then i heard -- that was him hitting bodies. hitting her body. this has been her daily drill as she fights to regain what wasta n from her during those violent seconds. a lisa i long-time animal rights activists pro protested on that issue many times beforee decision to join those countering the white supremacist was simply shifting the fight to human rights. >> i wanted to g and stand up against people who are violent and oppressive. >> reporter: once in charlottesville, she met a group with d.c. and marched with them. >> i felt terrified and i was standing there as people were lining up in formation to march out and i thought, this felt like war.

it's not going to be raining the whole time. we are looking at scattered showers for both your saturday and sunday. the most widespread, the best chance is going to be on monday. we have more scattered showers as we get in to tuesday before we finally dry out on wednesday. you can see wve got a few isolated showers out there right now coming through montgomery, counust on the western side of the beltway and up through howard county inre to balti as well. again, these showers have continued to roll up through the area what's happening is we've got a frontal system. it stalled just north of the mason-dixon line. so this frontal system is to wave back and forth. i don't think it's going to drop to the south, but it's going to be hanging out there for a good deal ofheweekend, even into the beginning of next week before it starts to break down. weng are g to keep shower week.s throughout this the best dynamic to see heavyor rain is baltimore and points to the norlt and east. this is the best chance toee heavy rain.
