d.c. public schoolpen on monday and will do so with hundreds of unlicensed teachers in the classrooms. in june an investigation by the i-team revealed nearly one in four d.c. teachers not certified. now he's learned there's only some progress to report. scott? >> reporter: ah, some progress. the i-team has learned about 100 teachers that have earned their license since our report in june which means the school district about 900own to unlicensed teachers when the doors open on monday. district officials acknowledge using unlicensed teachers as a violation of d.c. regulations, and it lea the district vulnveersable to sanctions and s of grant money from the u.s. department of education. they say hundreds of teachers have applied for licenses butn' havet finished the process. all newly hired educators are now required to at least have applied.me this sumr education officials and parents told us unlicensed teachers are a risk there's no guaranteed training, and if they're ever fired for misconduct, they'll be harder to
