app. at 8:33 a story following up on. it's happening today. a meeting between the university of maryland football tm and parents, and we are getting word of a private scrimmage later this afternoon. now, thisft comes the university system of maryland board of regents takes over two major investigations. all of this stemming from the death of a umdootball player. >> the first probe here deals with the circumstances of jordan mcnair's death. he died on june 13th. that report is due to complete next month. ut preliminary findings led to maryland accepting responsibility for mistakes leading up to his death. the other investigation was initiated by the school president. it's going to be looking into the football program's culture. there's no timetable for completing that rort justyet, but in a statement the board of regents offerg insight into why it's more involved. they say ouroal is to ensure all system universities including university of maryland college park are actively working to protect the health

kids. i thought she wants to get them out of the house. tell me why it's important to adopt from a shelter, notnly because you want to clear the shelters but what's the benefit of adopting fromlt s as opposed to hearing about it from craigslist or anad >> you're helping animals in the -- we're helping animals here in your community, and in virginia. we specifically are helping virginia to reduce -- to adopt animals throughout the state, and then also in adopting you know the animal has been vaccinated, spade, microchiped, had veterinary care. and then you're parf your family. you become one of our awla family members. and we make sure you then have access to resources, our staff who are very helpful withor behaissues, medical issues. if anything comes up with your animal, we help. >> what's the process for people

yes, we had a few overnight and severe thunderstorm warnings overnight, but we're pretty stable now. maybe an isolated storm, but i don't think itilbe all that strong. if you have plans outside, i would have a backup planas in because we're going to see waves of rain throughout the day. humidity u today. humidity up tomorrow. as we get into the wnd of the nekweek, that's when the humidity starts to fall. showers throughout the region. we have a few showers through montmery county going to the western side of the baltimore beltway and howard county. right here along i-66, marshal coming back out towd 522 headed toward the central shenandoah valley. this is pushing to the east. this is all due to a trontal systt is going to take its good time getting through our sea. we will it move through our area throughout the weekend and again, that's why we have waves of rain throughout the weekend. temperatures out there not too bad. 60s and 70s out there right now.

weekend activities, again, have an -- if y have an outdoor party, have a backup plan ready to go. clear the shelters. again, showers. bring that umbrella. you want to get the car washed, hold off until mid next week. that's going to be the time when we sta tory out. again, a few showers out there as we go through the 8:00 hour, and then look at this. again, we by lunchtime are dry, ht some morevier rain comes through as we get into the eving, as we get into the overnight we could have a few showers as well. patchy fog tomorrow morning. and then aew isolated showers throughout tomorrow afternoon. mame a thunderst as well. and we'll keep a chance for showers here and there on monday. mid 80s for tomorrow. again, with isolated thunderstorms. mainly in the evening. and just a slight chance on monday of a few showers. tuesday is the best chance. we could have severe weather on by wednesday and thursday, temperatures in the 80s.
