the ctims, saying it never goes away, and saying that for too long, the church ignored and kept quiet or silent. e heartwrenching pain of these victims. he also goes after the church's actions in the scandal. he says, with shame and repentance, we acknowledge as an ecclesiastical community, that we were not where we should have been. we did not act in a timely manner, realizing the magnitude and the gravity of the damage done to so many lives. we showed no care for the little ones. we abandoned them. those are theinds of words that people in churches across the country have been waiting to hear from pope francis since this grand jury report came out. >> word matter, but whaatters more is action. like what will the church do? do weknow that? >> and the pope addresses that in the letter. there's been a l of talk in the church about whether the

argento's revelation about weinstein, she reportedly quietly arranged to pay her own accuser claiming he was sexually assaulte in a california hotel room when he was 17. she was 37 at thetime. the age of consent in california is 18. overnight, shocking allegations against one of the me too movement's most prominent voices. "the new york times" reporting italian actress asia argento, arrangedo pay $380,000 to jimmy bennett after he claimed he was sexually assaulted in 2013 when he was just 17. the payment arrangement allegedly made not long after argento accused harvey weinstein of rape and sexualassault. the new claims detailed in documents sent to the times through encrypted e-mail says argento is both a mentor and

mother figure to bennett and the two were intermittently in contact as he grew up. bennett now 22 began aging at age 6. he was cast a age 7 to pl argento's son in a film. the documents characterized by the times as a legal agreement between lawyers describe bennett's version of the encounter. they have not been seen or verified iependently by nbc news. on may 19th, 2013, bennett says herrived at t hotel with a family member for a reunion with argento. after asking the family member to leave so she cld be alone with the actor, she gave him alcohol and series of notes she had written to him. the documents say argento then kissed bennett, removing hisnd pants performing oral sex dafore having sex with him. later that she posted to instagram, happiest day of my life. reunion with jimmy bennett. the two had lunch but later
