shows that 900 teachers are unlicensed which means they are not guaranteed to have all the required training. they also found some are newer teachers, but othersre veterans. safety advocates say unlicensed teachers are more difficult to ack if they are fired for misconduct and then try to cross state lines for a new job again teaching children. the first day of school for g prinrge's county students is september 4th, and this year new children will see som faces in the classroom. more than 1,000 new teachers will be welcoming kids back to the school. the new teachers started training today at bowie state. they will train through wednesday. teachers are going through all sorts of instructions which include literacy and class roam management. the first day of school for eeachers is this thursday. and we h a video that's getting a lot of attention on social meda. >> for g once the prince george's county county park police have joined the l synch challenge. take a listen.

kids? >> yeah. there's a fine example. too fast for the road. >> reporter: state records obtained by the news 4 i-team show hundreds of people have been prosecuted for speeding in school zones in montgomeryun since 20 is a, and in prunty, and nearly 100 in frederick, but in hundreds of other cases we found something else. nearly 100 pedestrians he had walking to or from school in maryland just since 2015. in virginia where they measure scol zone crash eds, we found 600 in fairfax county in the same time frame and 200 each in loudoun and prince william. some the fault of the somedrive the fault of the pedestrians. nearly a dozen of those crashes ended with seone dying. >> i took it really hard. it justen happed. >> reporter: a car struck gwen ward's daughter as she crossed a state highway to get to high school. >> she was deceased by the time i got there. i kissed her and they said you can't touch her.
