first, new york, michael cohen, the president's former attorney and fixer, pleaded guilty to tax evasion andna campaign e violation. the plea doesn't actually namep president trut it does acknowledge payments to two omen for the purpose of influencing the 2016 election. one payment in coordination with and repaid by, quote, the candidate. cohen was apparently emotional in court as he entered that plea. he will be sentenced in december. in alexandria, virginia, a jury fnd paul manafort guilty on several counts. the judge found mistrial on ten counts. manafort goes on trial in the district next monthgeacing char of failing to register as a lobbyist for ukraine, witnes a tamperi financial fraud. at a rally in west virginia, the president made no mention of manafort or cohen. he did again attack the russian meddlingve igation.
