young woman who was pinned beneath a metro bus and rescued by firefights. this happened near the intersection of mckinley street and broad branch road. it happened nearby lafayette elementary school right as school let out. ey say a metro bus struck the young woman and hit a little 4-year-old girl. the young girl is in the preschool at lafayette. the young woman is her caregiver. teachers from the school had joined the girls' parents at the hospital. both the girl and the young woman are said to be in serious condition but they're expected to recover. i talked to some witnesses who wereere when it happened. >> i saw the lady, she walked underneath the bus. >> did she say anything? >> no. just only ty were working, you know, the fire department were working because the lady she was very close to the tire.

about his former boss and it appears he is not done yet. >> michael cohen has told me that he's going to tell the truth to whoever asks him, whether it be a congressional committee, a prosecutor or somebody ingt washin. >> reporter: cohen facing prison ti for campaign finance violations, admitting he was directed b t donald trum pay hush money to two women whose stories of affairs could have derailed his campaign. >> i american history, i don't know how many times a president of the united states sitting haa beenused of a felony by prosecutors. >> reporter: the president today telling fox business he did not know about the payments until later. >> my first question when i heard about it was, did they come out of e campaign? because that could be a little dicey. they didn't come out of the campaign.od >> reporter: on twitter, comparing cohen to former campaign manager paul ma who was convicted on eight federal counts and who refused ve break, the president wrote. such respect for a man.

now, for both, questions of a possible presidential pardon. says, no way. >> not only is he not hoping for it, he would not accept a pardon. >> reporter: potentially a different response from manafort facing years in federal prison and another trial next month now, on the possibility of those pardons, a longtime trump ally, alan dershowitz, tells msnbc today that theossibility of a pardon for cohen, you can forget about that. calling hcohen, in words, the enemy, but a pardon for manafort could possibly be on the table. now, wendy, as you can imagine, the h whise was pressed repeatedly on that possible manafort pardon today and sarah huckabee sanders sayt's not a topic that has come up since the manafort conviction. back to you. >> all right. blayne alexand thanks, blayne. the talk of pardons made us wonder if y can refuse a presidential pardon. nbc's pete williams tells us the question has actually come up twice. president andrew jackson pardoned a man convicted of

robbery and the man turned it down for reasons not clear. in 1833, the supreme court ruled a pardon has to be accepted in ordero be valid. the court does not have the power to force a pardonn someone. the court reached a similar conclusion in 1915. president woodrow wilson a pardon newspaper editor who pled the fifth and refused to testify in a criminal case. wilson was trying to force the newsper man to testify. the court ruled the editor had the right to refuse the pardon and retain his fifth amendment protection. in just a few weeks, a baby oy will celebrate his first birthday without his father. someon shot and killed his dad in prince george's county. tonight, as police hunt f his killer, family and friends gathered at the scene of the crime for an emotional vigil. news 4's meaganitzgerald reports from sea pleasant. >> come on, go to >> nothing like his dad because
