it happened last august and was a violation of protocol. umd says it told anderson to cut ties with the attorney. but a month later, anderson had not done that. a statement in part said, the decision to hire this lawyer showed a serious lack of judgment in a sexual misconduct casegiven the university's commitment to a fair and impartial handling of all such matters. anderson resigned in april. hurricane lane has been downgraded to a category hurricane. chris lawren has the latest. >> residents and visitors are feeling the impact. some areas could get up to 3 inches of rain. you see the latest video from the social media post. hurricane lane willin be mov towards the islands in the next 24 to 36 hours but gradually weakening as it does.th even though storm won't make

charges have dropped on brian welsh. investigators say the suspect and ricci were involved in a sale. nine bullets found on the victims and in that home do not match the suspect. however, bullet casings found on the scene match that gun. right now, police are searching for the man who attacked a woman in a manassas park. the attack happened last saturday, as a woman was out for a morning run in stonewall park. the man walked up and assaulted her. the ctim was able to get awa and contact police. if you know anything that can help track down the suspect, contact manassas police. here's a look at top stories. hurrane lane is twisting off of the coast of honolulu,
