practice this week. this is "inside the redskins". each week during the regular season we'll here exclusive skins s from the quarterback alex smith. this week here he is talking about how the redskin offense has been preparing for the opener. >> new team for you, new offense. some guys were slow coming back in because of injuries and health reasons. where do you feel this offense isat? are there any concerns, worries about how it may look early in the season because of ome of the newness for a lot of people? >> i mean, that's a progression that never ends. you know? you're always working on that regardless of the there's always going to be injuries and guysorking back in. you're always trying to get better and a lot of facets of your game as an offense. i think our strengthnt evelly

that's what i got my degree in, and i love doing that. my grownup would be my father. i look up to my dad. he's a great person to model my life afrer. it's gat to be a redskins. you have fantastic players, especially on the offensive line. you have the hogs that were tremendous offensive line. we're trying to do the same type of thing with our group. i'm trying to fill the shoes of those in the past.

of somebody. rather than last year notin kng guys. there year i'm very comfortable with them. >> on twitter yesterday it was said d.j. is the hardest working guy on the team. how important is it for a guy who talks as much as you do -yo re a vocal leader -- to back it up? >> if you talk as much as i do, just beingmyself, you got to back it up. i know a lot ofha dogs t fight but don't bark. if you talk talk, you got to walk the walk. that's somethingev try to do yday not just on the field but everyday fe. you got to put the work first before y get the results. >> so you're in miamihis off season. you had guys down there, quinn, fabian. how do youelp them try to figure out theirwn way? >> i try to give them tools to help me with getting out on my breaks, knowing the ybgame. any can come out there and just run around, but just knowing the smart

folk the a united airlines fly the skins on the road. it's a big job. here's a look at how they do it. >> the time has come for washington redskins football. >> one of my responsibilities is being responsible for team travel during the season, and i am grateful for our partnership with united airlines. they take great care of us during the season under sometimes difficult circumstances. >> preparing to move the team, they come in the day before the flight. we are monitoring the aircraft. so whether it's going to be here, it's going to orige from here, ferry in from another city, we track that. we track the routing, make sure there's no mechanical issues. we work with our mechanics back here, check with them. make sure the plane is fuelled, caters. >> we go on a road trip, there's a whole team of united employees

behind the scenes that help us get from point a to point b on time and safely. people like michael o'brien, lenny brooks, michael corgan they are behind the scenes and help us with the planning leading up to our game. they're great at what they do. we rely upon them to get us where we need to be to go win a football game. >> typical wait on each flight varies. when we go to philadelphia, maybe take 300 pounds. but with just four west coast trips this year, we take around 20,000 pounds. >> united helps us transport approximately 45 cases for all the football staff both to and from away games. united really goes above and beyond helping us load the planes, make sure we're operating in an efficient and

timely manner. >> it's a lot of work. fimt staff is very helpful and they're out there lending us a hand. it's a well-oiled operation that we've been doing since day one. we try not to make any changes. >> united does a great job, because sometimes there are difficult circumstances like high winds or snow, or a lot of rain, and their crews are always there ready to unload our planes, ready to make sure the stairs get up and everybody gets off safely. they really go above and beyond. >> the plan is get them on, then the staff on. >> yeah, man. you know how we do it, man. you know. you know. you know. you know. >> it can get very hectic, but more so when they're boarding the plane, when they come on they pretty much get everything

once they come on. they grab their food, their juice. try and run and get everything form before we take off. >> depending on the length of flight, time of day, where we're going, players do what regular passengers do. some read. some watch tv. some talk. a lot of people take this time on the flight to rest. after a game on the way home, they will look at video from the game. pretty much what regular passengers do with the exception of having that post game video to look at. >> usually on regular flights you'll see probably a bar cart with all the drinks and everything. now we're hand running things and it's not in order. it's catch me while i'm running by to drop off something else. a 30 0 guy with a bar cart is
