three innocent people and wounding two others. the motive for the shooting is still unclear. back nowo our ea, a deadly discovery inside a home in herndon. a man coming homein to fd his two young sons st to death. now police are providing some new information about what they think happened inside that house. news 4's mark mark sethaves has details. >> reporter: jus 24 hours since the call first came in, police tape still surrounds this is house here in herndon and polici are t us that they believe what happened inside this ho, murder/suicide. police would not identify any of the victims because of privacy laws regarding children. but basedn what neighbors tell us and what recordings from police dispatches, it appears the 42 jld mothho-year-old mothd here shot her two young sons and then went up stairs and took her own life. >> shot in cold blood. >> reporter: while the father only found his two young sons when he came home, when police

arrived, they found the mother. >> the homeowner went into the wohouse, saw the juveniles and that is when he backed out and called t911. the woman was upstairs. ourt officers win, discovered the two juveniles also and the woman upstairs. >> reporter: the family was known to worship at this mosque not far from their home. this woman attends that mosque and came by the house today to pay her rpects. >> it is so sad, you know. i have my own children. and you feel really sad this is happening to a family, children and the mother their lives. so it is really sad. >> reporter: while police are certain this is a murder-suicide, they are still investigating what went on inside thi home yesterday. meanwhile outside, a grim reminder as the young boys' play area is draped in crime tape.
