someone who is trustworthy and has good morals. >> reporter: you can also find the names of teachers of their licenses for misconduct. at the start of the 2018/2019 school year, th commonwealth of virginia has revoked or canceled the licenses of mor than 500 virginia teachers since 2000. about 170d maryl teachers in the same time frame lost their have changed thing in that state. after our i-team reports, the maryland state d artment of education began posting the whom of all teachers for it's revoked a license for misconduct. if you go on their web site, nthere's a link the bottom right. click on it and you will see the names of thoseheeachers and school districts in which they work and the dates the licenses were revoked. maryland doesn't have of those online portals, though, where you can check the licenses of all the other teachers in this state. for that you have to e-mail or call the state department of

school resource officer who ran towards the danger. >> you feel like you did everything you were supposed to do and that you cld do that day? >> i do. >> reporter: in his first sit down interview, deputy gaskill talkeds about the day he ran towards gunfire inside greatch mills highl in st. mary's county. while he's been in law enforcement for years, swat team, even, it was his first year as a school resource officer. on that frigid morning last spring, 17-year-ol austin rollins opened fire, shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend, 16-year-old jehlen willie and injuring 14-year-old desmond barnes deputy gaskill ran toward the gunfire and shot rollins in the hand. >> our policy is simple. single officer responds. goe we'r notaiting for fib. >> reporter: rollins also fired a shot, taking his own life. gaskill was okay but he says the whole ordeal left his young daughter rattled? >> she was concerned and crying
