>> back now to the weather alert. preparations are in place as the ea coast braces for hurricane florence. the u.s. navy ordered about 30 of its ships out to sea. the uss dwight d. eisenhower left yesterday. they'll go to parts of the atlantic where they're better able to weather the storm. >> the on shore flow is a huge deal. it's a category 4 right now and for us locally the bpact may later. end of the weekend and early next week. >> but it will have some impact? >> lots of rain. >> weec e it but most of the rain will stay south of here. dealing morning we're with a lot of fog. visibility is very low out there: take a look. this is almost zero mile visibility in the district.

so you may note be a to see more than about 30 feet in front of you in some areas. be very careful. looking at less than a mile visibility. and dulles less than a mile visibility. so very dense fog this morning. be very careful if you're passing there too. weave a couple trying to move in from the south but we're still looking dry. it's 72 degrees in washington. 70 in clinton right now. so mild to start off your rning and as the kids head back to school, maybe a raincoat because wehaave thee for showers. the fog out there this morning at the bus heop. through days, cloudy skies with highs around 80 degrees. now there it is. there might be an eye wall replacement going on pretty soon but this still looks like a fantastic storm as far as the organization in it.in me we don't expect it to weaken any time soon.

it's aan strong hurr we are expected to even lose intensity once it nears land. this would be late thursday into friday. it could very well weaken rapidly and slow dn a lot. it's not good if this storm slows down. a lot of rain for the carolinas and it depends on what happens inland.oves if it heads farther south we'll get less rain and wind in our forecast. we'll get more rain and wind in the forecast. but again, thelowing down of this storm would be a huge impact on much of the mid-atlantic as far as just the constant rainfall is concerned. here's our rainfall forecast as we go through the weekend andy. into tues we're looking at 2.5 inches. this is a europn model. now you can see where the heaviest rain is expected here. look a wilmington. parts of north carolina could see devastating flooding from this and part of the reason why is because once it moves itinla
