will head south so they can be in place to help after the storm. >> three bucket trucks like this one behind me are now on the way to that hurricane florence impacted region. once on the ground. dominion energy says theyil work as quickly as possible to restor power to those in need. right now on the way down are 12 people, who have a background in power restoration in bad storm ssystems like the o they're about to encounter on the ground there. they're taking these tee bucket you trucks as well as an auguster truck to help the journey down there. millions of people could be impacted by the storm. among the first priorities they're looking to restore power to critical aid agencies. >> police,fire, hospitals, 911 centers, water treatment cilities, water pumping

right now, hurricane florence's heavy rains and tropical storm force winds are just starting to get north carolina's outer banks. the storm n expected to make landfall until tomorrow morning. we'll have more on florence and its impact here in a few minutes. six people are dead including a shooter, includingea sp shootings in bakersfield. the suspect then stole a car from a woman and child before taking his ownlife. no word yet on what led up to this. the sheriff's office plans to provide another update this afternoon manyd

we see some flooding, coastal flooding around the region. take a lk at this monster of a hurricane. hurricane florence, the only ece of goodews i can give you, it's now down to a category 2 hurricane. don't concentrate on the category, the effects are going to be ever lasting. over 400 miles from end to end. we're seeing some cloud debris out of it. pegged to hit mill wing ton right around the beach area as a category 2 tonight. an ng northwest at 10 mil hour, the pressure is up a little bit, it's still an can seehurricane, you it dips into south carolina, and then as an area of low pressure starts tve around the appalachian. once it goes out of here, this is all through sunday. so this is all weekend that we're going to get a good amount of rain. then it's going twing up on the other side of the palachians and move moisture into our area. take a look at some of these totals.he

i sent to my friends from wilmington. 25 inches of rain through tuesday. now, you come up into the d.c. , arhat we're going to see by tuesday night, just a little over 3, there's going to be isolated areas that get a little more rain. again, we're seeing the cloud cover out of this already here in the district. we'reing a few isolated showers. current temperature out there right now in the70s, topping out around 80 degrees, watch, we're goingo haveaves of showers that roll through the area, and that's going to happen today overnight, tomorrow, through the weekend, not going to be a washout. but we are going to continue to have rain moving through the area all the way through the weekend. today low 80s, intermittent showers. some of those bands could be heavy. and then for the weekend, 79 on saturday, 83 on sund sun could be heavy at times, we get into monday and tuesday when the remnants pull through here. we'lp talk about that coming in 15 minutes. combing up, we're also
