5:00 pm
the president of china, president xi, but it's going to be a two-way street. if for 25 years or longer, it was not, and trillions trillions of dollars was taken out of the united states for thf benefichina. we just can't have that. we have to make it fair. so we're at $250 billion now, 25% interest, and a lot of money is comin into our coffers. it's had no impactn o absolutely, by the way, no impact on our economy. which i said it wouldn't. l fact, steel is the hottest industry there isk at steam, a 25% dumped massive amounts of steel, they want those companies out of business, and after they are, they'll charge five tes more than ever thought possible, and we need steel and alumin, and those industries are doing well, but steel is incredible.
5:01 pm
u.s. steel isp opening a minimum of eightplants, new cores opening up plants, bigpl ts, $750 million plants in some cases, so what'spe hng with the steel industry is very exciting to me. it's been rebuilt overnight. if you look at the miners in coal, and energy, lng, japan just gave us some numbers that are leincred doubling the amount that they are going to be buying for japan. they are taking the lng and doubling it up. i said, you have to do me a we don't want deficits. you're going to have to buy more. they are buying massive amounts of equipment and militar equipment, and other countriesn are dhe same thing. we have trade imbalances with almost everybody. it's a rare exception that we don't. so we are doing great as a country. unfortunately, they just raised
5:02 pm
interest rates a little bit because we are doing so i'm not happy about that, because i know it's going to be a question. i'm not happy about that. i'd rather pay down debt or do other things, create more jobs. i'm worried about the fact theyt like to raiseest rates. we can do other things with the money, but they raised them, and they are raising them because we are doing so well. we are doing mhetter than i had projected in terms of when i was campaigning. i said we were going to do this, and we're doing mh better than nybody thought possible. if others gotin, it would have been the opposite because they were going to put restrictions onnd regulations on, and they were going to choke the economy as it wag, already chokut it would have been worse, and they were going to raise taxehe that's what want to do now if they ever got control, which i don't think they will have
5:03 pm
control for a long time. with that esaid, we'll tome questions, and yes, se, john, we have plenty of time. >> mr. president, thank you very much. of course, what you're looking forward to tomorrow is the hearings with judge kavanaugh. >> yes. >> before the judiciary committee. zb ye >> yeah. >> in 1991 when biden passed along the bush '41 allegations with clarence thomas, the bush white house asked the fbi to look into as part of judge dhom thomas's backgroun investigation, not a criminal investigation, but a background investigation. when the allegations were raised, why didn't this white house do the same thing, and with all of the allegations coming out now about judge kavanaugh, was there an opportunity missed here to have investigators look into this and get clarity one way or another? >> the fbi told us they investigated judge kavanaugh six
5:04 pm
times, many times over the years. they know him very well, but here there was nothing to investigate from at least one standpoint, they didn't know the location. they didn' know the time. they didn't know the year. they didn't know anything. it's, like, where do you go? also, it's not for the fbi. look what biden said. he said, they don't do this, and he said it very clearly, so i think when you really look at it all, it's not going to change any of the democrats' minds. they are obstructionists. they are actually con artists because they know how quality the man is and destroyed a man's reputation, and they want to destroy it even more, and i think people are going to see that in the midterms what they have done to the family, what they have done to these children, these beautiful children of his, and what they've done to his wife. they know it's a big fat con job. and they go into a room, and i guarantee you they laugh like
5:05 pm
hell of what they pulled off on you and on the public. they laugh like hell so it wouldn't have mattered if the fbi came back with the cleanest score, and you understand that very well, john. if they would have come back with the most perfect, we found everything, and he's perfectly innocent of everything. it wouldn't have made a difference. e gotten one h vote. now, we will get votes from the democrats if we win. you'll have three, four, five democratsg giv their sense because they are states that won by 30 and 40 pointsy and tvotes. other th that, you won't, get anythihn. yes? >> mr. president, there's three women accusing judge kavanaugh u of sexual misc. are you seeing that all three women are liars? is there anything that could be said tomorrow that could cause you to withdraw the nomination? anything of all?
5:06 pm
>> i'm not getting into that game. i only tell you this. this is one of the highest quality people i've ever met, and everybody that knows says the same thing. these are all false accusations, to me, false accusations in certain cases, the media even agrees with that want ian only say thate what they h done to this man is .incredib i pick 145 judges i'll be picking by the end of a short period of time because president obama was not big on picking judges. when i got ther i said,ow is this possible? i have 145 including court of appeals judges, and they just didn't do it. you know why? they got tired. they got complacent. something happened. i have 145 judges. everybody wants to be a federal
5:07 pm
judge. upreme court judge. i'm talking about court of al ap district court, and i don't think they are going to want to so much. i'll be calling people and we'll have people calling people that this, and people are going to be scared banause we say it about you, 35 years ago, you- met you might know -- you might not know what's going on. what is going on? why did they wait so long? why did senator feinstein wait until the hearings were over to make this case? why not bring it right in the beginning when you ask about as an example, thefbi, why not bring this right at the beginning during the hearing? you wou have had all the time in the world for the fbi. it would have beenbiine. now, thes you know investigated this time as they have five or sixthermes, and they did a very thorough investigation, but t is a big con job. and i would love to be in the room with the democrats close
5:08 pm
the door while you're awayti outside w and schumer and his buddies in there laughing, how they fooled you all, let's just stop them a big fat con, go aheatr >> presidentp, you have daughters, can you understand why a victim of sexuadassault wo not report it at the time? don't you understand -- >> by the way, i only say this, 36 years, no charge, no nothing. >> but that happens often. >> people have to make a decision. 36 years is no charge, therethe hearingsver and rumors come out, and tn you have this otheron artist come out with another beauty today. i only say that you have to look at the facts. the senators are very capable people and very good people. i know many of them. they are friends ofne these are very talented, very
5:09 pm
good people, and they are going to vote. they are going to have to believe what they believe. i can -- when i look at what's happened to the reputation of a great gentleman, a great intellect, a brilliant man, one with a chance to be a great supreme court justices in history, intellectually, i think it's a shame. >> mr. president, yesterday, at the speech, at the u.n., you spoke about how venezuela problem was because of cuba and the s, how they went in there and brought socialism and communism to venezuela and now, mr. president, are you going to be more prgactive nowst cuba as well? >> i've been proactive agast cuba. i don't like what's happening in cuba. as you know, president obama gave them a pass, and i didn't like it. neither do cuban people based in
5:10 pm
miami and based in our country who came from cuba and suffered in cuba. i don't like what he did. i've ended much of it,ost of it. i don't like what's happening in cuba, and i certainly don't lik what's happening in venezuela. go ahead. >> mr. president, just to, finieally fast, you said, also, that you had a callo action to ask leaders around the world to also end socialism. would you like -- >> i would not say socialism has been worunng really well a the world. okay. you can take a look at venezuela as your no. most obvious, but socialism is not exactlyiding high. please >> mr. president? >> go ahead. >> thank y very much. if you don't mind, after i'm finished, if we or vivian or a female colleague is after me, that would be great. following up --
5:11 pm
>> what does he mean by that?pl n? what does that mean? >> i think it would be great to have a female reporter -- >> what'? it me >> great if a female reporter would ask you a question about the issue. ifou don't mind - >> i don't mind that at all. not at all. >>. all rig let -- >> wouldn't make any difference to me. go ahead. >> if i can follow up on jn and hn's question, why is it, mr. president, that you always seem to side with theotccused andhe accuser? you have three women here who are all making allegations, who are all asking their stories be heard, and, youf know, you look at the case of roy moore, one of your staffers, you seem to time and again side with the accused and not the accuser. is that because of the manyle tions that you had made against you over the years? >> well, first of all, i was not ppy with roy moore. let's get that straight. roy mooreub was a rcan candidate,ou and i have
5:12 pm
rather had a republican candidate win. i was very happy with luthere, stra terrific man from alabama, but luther had a lot of things going against him. as far as women, whether it's a man orn, a wo you know, it can happen the other way, allegations can go the other way also. younderstand that. and whether it was a man or a woman, 30 years ago, 36 years ago, in fact, they don't even rsow how many y ago because nobody knows what the time is, could a long time, and i pick, as an example, hopefully i won't have to do it as a replacement because hopefully this is going to go very wl on thursday, saturday, or sunday, whenever they have it, but i coul pick a woman, and she could have charges made from many years ago also. >> don't you understand, though, that -- >> i would look at the character -- no, what i have to do -- >> reduck lant to come forward, raising doubts about the a--
5:13 pm
>> i don't think people are luck tonight to come forward. they have a chance to speak, a major -- excuse me, excuse me, they have a major chance to speak, and it will be tomorrow, i assume, we delayed this,me ing the republican senators, not me, the republicans senat have delayed this for weeks now. they are t givin women a major chance to speak. now, it's possible i'l hear that, and i'll say, hey, i'm changing my mind. that is possible. we want to give tom a chance speak. >> do you think all three have a chance? all three should ha a chance? >> well, whoever is begin a chance. we delayed it a long timeey but re going to have a big shot at speaking and making their case, y and know what? i could be persuaded also, okay? yes, please. please, go ahead. go ahead. ahead, please. >> thank you, mr. president. >> thank you. >> a couple questions to follow
5:14 pm
up on a i did not hear from you, if you allow me a l,uple questions. first of do you think the women, all three of them, are liars? yes he no. >> are what? >> liars? >> i can't tell you. tomorrow. watch i have to -- i just heard about one awhile ago. i can tell you h lawyer is a low life, okay, and so i can't tell you whether or not they are liars until i hear them. i don't know what happened today. i've been busy withh japan, so korea, china, and seven other countries as you know, and i chaired the secity counsel. i don't know about today's person that cameforward. do know about the lawyer. you don't get much worse, bad reputation to take that look at his past, so as far as the other women are concerned, i'm going to see what happens tomorrow. i'm going to be watching. you know, believe it or not. i' going to see what's said. it's possible that they will be convin convincing. with that said, judge brett
5:15 pm
kavanaugh has been,or many years, one of the most respected people in washington. he's been on, i guess call call it the second highest court, and every single personnows him, a lot of people know him well. and those people don't believe what's going on. i can always be convinced. i have to hear it. >> sounds like what you are saying there is a situation, a enario under which you'd withdraw brett kavanaugh's nomination, is that correct? >> if i thought he was guilty of something like this, yeah, sure. >> you'll wait until tomorrow -- >> i want to watch and see. i hope i can watch. i'm meeting with a lot of countries tomorrow, but i will certainly, in some form, be able to watch, and i'll also rely on very fair and talented republican senators who, look, if we broughteoe washington here and we said we have george washington, theemrats would vote against him just so you understand, and he may have had
5:16 pm
a bad past. who knows, you know. he may have had some, i think, accusations made. a didn't he hav couple things in his past? george washington would be voted against 100% by schumer and the arn sts. 100%. 100%. doesn't matter from their standpoint. that's why when john asked about the fbi. when the fbi did the most thorough investigation in the history of the fbi and found him 100% perfect, he'd lose every single vote. if republicans win tomorrow, you'll get somot from the democrats. you know why? because we all know why. it's called politics. okay, one more question. yes. >> i have a follow-up -- >> it's not fair to everyone else, should i let h ask another question -- >> i want to follow up -- >> go ahead. >> i want to follow up on a question about the benefit of the doubt you've given two people like roy moore to roger ails, bill o'reilly, they are allmen.
5:17 pm
why is that? have you given the benefit of the --wn >> i've k them for a long time. and a lot of these people. a lot of people. and some i've been disappointed with. i have been disappointed with some others. you know, there were charges that were weak, but i've known people for a long time. i never saw themo anything wrong. never saw them do anything wrong, and there's some i youably agree, i can tell there's some i've been watching for a long time, and in a coue cases, they were not republicans, and in a lot of cases, they were not. they were exactly the opposite, but i've been watching them for a long time. i kneor a long time these were not good people. they were never brought up. okay, ye ma'am, go ahead. >>. >> when the allegation first surfaced, ioutially said how important it was for dr. ford to
5:18 pm
testify and you wanted to hear from her. >> i do. hi wish she woue gone quicker. >> you also said if what she said were as bad as she claims, surely her or her parents would have reported it. today, you said - >> well, that is the truth. there is a chance her parents couch reported it 36 yearsago. >> so my question is -- >> it doesn't mean they had to rert it because in some instances people keep it quiet, 2 a tough situation for a woman. no question about it. and in some cases, they report it. frankly, had they reported it, it would have been pretty amazing, wouldn't it? but i guess they didn't. that's okay. i'm not saying they had to report it,ecause it's a very personal thing. it's a very big problem. there's no question about it. go >> do you want to hear her story -- >> i'd like to hear her story, yeah. we're giving her time. >> before you made up your mind. >> they would have given her time last week. this is the united states senate. this is the most important
5:19 pm
position that a president can give out. i think we can say by far i've heard it's the most important decision a president can make. i disagree with that, i say war and peace, and after thate suprurt justice, right? i look forward to hearing from ear. we could have from her last week. we could have heard from her for a long time. interesting to hear what she has to say, okay? >> let me follow up on m's question. mr. president, following up on jim's question that we didn't t an answer to. >> which question? who? >> how i your personal experiences -- >> i've been accused. false accusations. >> right. >> excuse me, i've been accused, and i was accused by, i believe, was four women, you can check with sean hannity and fox cause they covered it very strongly. who got paid. i wa accused by four or five women who were paid a lot of
5:20 pm
money to make uptories about me. we caught themre in the main media, refused to put it on television. they refused even to write about it. there were four women, maybe more, i think the number's four or five, but one had a mortgage paid off the house at $52,000. another had other things happen. and the one that reported it i believe, was offered $750,000 -a things said about me, and she's the one that reported it. thcr woman is ible. she reported it instead of money. the i've had numerous accusations abou me. they made false statements abo me knowing they were false. i never met them. i never met these people, andy what did t do? what did they do? they took money in order to say bad thgs. i had stories written in the "new york times," front page, f abour women, the whole top
5:21 pm
center front page of the "n york times", i think it was four big pictures, wow, that's a big thing. what's that? these were women that were quoted saying bad things about . not the worst things, but bad things. i said that's too bad. i knew them 15, 20 years ago, that's too bad, i see them on n televisionhing to do with me, but the next day, day later, they were saying dond trump is a nice guy. we never said this. the "new york times" did false reporting. they're fake newsw you kwhat? the "new york times" would not report that their story was fake. these women said great things, not only did they not say the bad stuff, but said great stuff about me, front page. these women, incredible they went on television. they didn't want to.
5:22 pm
i didn't askhe they said the "new york times" made it up, gave false quotes, and they went on a lot of shows. they couldn't believe it. that's why people know that a lot of the news is fake. a lot of the people h sittinge are fake. but 20% of them are wonderful. okay? >> if i could just ask my question, mr. president. >> you've been ask question for ten minutes. please, sit down. god.head. go ah >> how does that impact your opinion on the allegationsel -- >> it does impact my opinion, why? because i had a lot of false charges made against i'. a very famous person, unfortunately. i've een a famous person for long time, but i've had a lot of false charges made against me, really false charges. i knowends who had false charges. people want fame. they want money. they want whatever. so when i seedit, i view it erently than somebody sitting at home watching television where they say, oh,
5:23 pm
judge kavanaugh this or that. it's happened to me many times. had many fal charges. i had a woman sitting in an airplane, and ittacked her while people were coming on to the plane, and i have a no. 1 best seller out. i mean, it was a total pstney y. there's many of them. so when you say, does it affect me in terms ofy thinking? with respect to judge kavanaugh? absolutely. i've had it many times. and if the n wsld have reported these four people, i couldn believe it. when i heard they caught the four people, i said, wow, that's a big story, a it was. for fox. okay. >> you made a significant allegaon against the chinese government. >> i did. >> meddled in or haveed med in the midterm election. what evidence do you have of that, sir? >> we have evweence. ave evidence. it'll come out. i can't tell you now, but it
5:24 pm
came. it d come out of nowhere that i can tell you. now -- >> why -- >> they admitted they are going after farmers. think most of you can cover that. ngi like that you are shaour head yes. i'm asking you the next question. it's probably the killer of all questions. let me just - expla >> why not come forward with the evidence? >> china put on $2 billion, paying 25% on that, paying billions and billions. this has never hpened to china. i like president xi a lot, he's a friend of mine, maybe not anymore, but maybe probably respects, what i hear, ifou look t the leading authority, on a food show, i won't name the show, but china has respect for donald trump's and donald trump's very, very large
5:25 pm
brain. heumaid donald they don't know what to do. never happened. one thing they are tryingo do is trying to convince people to go against donald trump because a normal, regular person that has no concept of what the hell he's doing would let chi continue to take $500 billion a year out of our country and rebuild their country. they were building 29 massiveid s like the george washington bridge. that we billing things don't build anymore. we're starting to build them again. our economy is hotter than it's ever en. i don't know if you saw the confidence levels this morning that just came ou fantastic. in all fairness to the fed raising rates, raising rates becauseone've never like we're doing now, and one of the things that is nice about the rates is people ht the worst by zero interest rates, when presidencoobama had anmy
5:26 pm
that was the worst comeback since the great depression and all tha -- you all heard that, but, remember, he was playing with 0 interest asmoney. helaying with funny money. that's easy. i'm playing with fairly expensive money, so when he does that, the people that benefit are people that actually, and their whole life, would save 10%, 15%, 20% of the salary and put it in the bank. they put it in the bank and werl because they were going to live off the interest. there nos no interest. these people are starting to get interest, and those are the people, frankly, that deserve, you know, the did a great job. the people that did it right, the people that did the best job got hurt the most. so in o sense i like it, but basically i'm a low interest rate person. i hate toyo tell yes, ma'am, go ahead. >> mr. president, you have another meeting tomorrow with rosenstein, are you planning to fire him? >> i'm talking to him. we had a good talk. he said he never said it and
5:27 pm
doesn'tie b it, and said he has a lot of respect for me, and he was very nice, and we'll see. he's a member of the trump dministration, and in that sense, in the justice department, a i would prefer not doing that. there was no collusion or obstruction, unless youru all obion the fact i fight back. i fight back. i mean, if y call that obstruction, that's fine. but there's no obstruction. there's no collusion. so i'll meet with him tomorrow may call rod tonight or tomorrow, and ask for a little bit of a delay to the meeting because i don't want to do anything that gets in the way of this very important supreme court pick. so ion't want to compete and hurt the decision one way o the other decision. again, i want to hear what she has to say. i wey delay that. l see. i don't want to conflict that.
5:28 pm
ce would be to keep hi and to let him finish up. you know i call it a witch hunt. if you look a the statements, if you look at if you look from a hillary clinton pack, essentially, run by jerry, the best friend in the world, and he gives hhemdreds of thousands of dollars to run -- she lost -- to run, i mean, what's going on? if you look at the horrible statements like way to go, paige, great story put into a newspaper, essentially, now we'll go and investigate that group. it's terrib. we have caught people doing
5:29 pm
tha things that are terrible. pi muchfer keeping rosenstein. people said i have the absolute right toirhim, but he said he did not say it, he does not believe it, and no one in the eoom believe it. i deal with thee in this room, i was with mike before dealing at a high level with japan, and i was saying things that nobody in the room even understood, and i said to him a long time ago, and i was right, he said, that's not the 25th amendment that i'm looking at. i think i canha say from mike. >> you don't think anyone in the administration ever discussed theoint using the 25th amendment against you? >> i don't thi so, enemies, sure. >> within your administration? >> you use anything they can. they are not in love with me. they are not going to beat me in the election. they know that. they are not going to beat me. the people i'm lookingt are total lightweights. i dream of running against those people and come up with somebods
5:30 pm
thot -- i'm against what they want to do. i'm in fav of law enforcement. i'm in favor of low taxes andbo ers. i want borders. we spent 3.2, and we get another 1.6, and eventually we get the whole thing to complete the wall. they don'tan that. they don't want the things i have. now, i must say, i know many of the democrats. they'll say things and then wink at me. and, again, it's the same old story. they say things, it's the same story. it's polics. the reason they don't want me is because they want to run the show. they want it. it's power, it's whatever you want to cl it. what they have done here is a disgrace. a total disgrace, and what they do, i know it's interesting, but in one case they say he's a
5:31 pm
fascist, he's taking over the government, he's the most powerful president ever, he's a horrible human beg. he wants t take over the entire government. we can't sto him. that didn't work. the next week, he said, oh, he's incompetent. wait a minute, one case i take over the world, and then the next i'm coetent. they tried that for a week. that didn't work. look, these are very dishonest people, these are con artisthe andress knows it, but the press doesn't write it. wow, that's a lot of hands. that's a lot. steve, go ahead. he's a high quality person, this man, but he'll probably hit m with a bad one. go ahead, give it to me.s. reut >> you're getting letters from chairman kim, why do you need a secondummit with the north korean leader so soon, and -- >> because he'd like it. >> what would it be for. >> reived two letters from
5:32 pm
chairman kim. they are incredible letters. they are lgters that ar magnificent in the sense of his feelings he wants to get it done. i may be wrong. i heard someone on a certain network say, why has president trump given so much to north korea. i said wait a min, call thi person. i gave nothing other than i met. what did i give them? i didn't dma what o did and give $1.8 billion in cash to get back four hostages. i never paid them anything. i have not paid 10 cents, but he wants to make a deal, and i'd like to make a dell. we act have a very good relationship, a lot different than the laster time we at the united nations. that was rough. don't forget, that time, oh, trump is saying these horrible things and going to get us into a war. you're going to have a war if i was not elected, you'd be in a
5:33 pm
war, and president obama certainlily said the same thing. he was ready to go to war. you would have gone twar losing millions, not thousands. seoul has 30 million people, 40 miles and 30 miles from the dangerous border. if i was not elected, you would have had a war. president obama thought you had to go to war. you knose how c he was to pressing the trigger for war? millions of people with me, no one talks about that. no one is talking about that. we have a very good relationship. he likes me. i like him. we get along. he wrote me two of the most beautifuls. lett when i showed one of the letters, just one, to prime minister abe, he said, this is actually a ground breaking letter. this isn incredible historic letterand it is. it a beautiful piece of art, and i think we're going to make
5:34 pm
a deal. will we make a deal, steve? i don't know. i think in the antime, and i said it -- i don't want to bete you, no ro no missiles, no nuclear tests. you know, for over a year, you have not seenef --e i got here, everybody in this room thought you were going t war. and then what happened? it was funny. they said he wasterrible. he was so rough with chairman kim, kim jong un, he was so rough. it's terrible. well, i had a great meeting with president they said, he was too soft with president putin. i had a great meeting. it lasted for two hours. we discussed everything. ukrainria, israel, and israel's protection. we had a great meeting. they wanted me in a boxing match. if i was killer tough with putin, they would h said, he's too tough. you can't win.
5:35 pm
you just keep going, and in the meantime -- >> how long do you think it should take north korea to denuclearize? >> i'm note getting in the t game. you know why? i said, mike, don't get into the time game. we stopped them. they are taking down plants and lot of testing areas, and they'll take dowmore. you'll hear about that soon. i don't want to get ahead of myself, but you'll hear about it soon, and they have no interest right now in testing nuclear -- you know, we had a case just about when i was coming into office, you remember it, where there wa massive, an earthquake, and a mountained m over with an inch and a half. north korea is mountainls, beautiland, beautiful, and this mountain actually shifted. it shifted. and somebody thought it was an earthquake. they found out, no, this waste nucleaing. shifted a mountain. i'm talking about serious stuff.
5:36 pm
sewhous size. i came in, and even before i came in and beginning at mine as had rhetorical contests earlier, you can call it, witha chaikim, which we both smile at now, and we laugh at it, but everybody thought that was a horrible thing. many presidents unable do anything, anything at all with north korea. we now have a good relationship. we have a good relationship, and most importantly, all of the things you heard about, horror stories, in my opinion, they are done. now, could they startp again? yes. i'm a deal guy. could they start? yeah. could be that we don't work it out. w i thinkt we've done behind the scenes, which nobody really knows, and i don't blame y not knowing about, personal letters, private letters, but saying they want to get it done.
5:37 pm
we know much more than the medi for achange, much more, but if you saw behind the scenes, you'd be impressed. we were a country going to war. i really believe that president obama would admit he saids i by far the biggest problem. when i sat with him prior to going to office, he said to me, it's by far theob biggest m, and he said to me that he was very close to going into war, and millions of people, not, you kn, i -- they say,oh, thousands of people, no, no, not thousands. f people would have been killed. that could have left, you know, right next to china, and that uld have been a world war very easily. right now, we're in a great position. i'm not playing the time game. i told mike, don't let them do that to you we have not done anything. back a few weeks ago, backtw li

asked the general for a year and a half, why not stop these ridiculous, in my opinion, the military games? i call them the military games. i told you how much those games cost, and frankly, i told south korea to pay for the games. wethay for them. said we fly the planes in from a short distance away. where? guam. how long a trip? seve hour flying massive bombers, oh, great. wanted to stop this a long time. we're saving, by the way, for the taxpayer, we areaving a fortune. if we need them, we can start them up immediately.e if i think need them, i'll start them before the generals will start them. the fact is, the reporte said that, what have we done? i have not given anything. we a really on to the cusp. i think we're really going to do something that's b going to very important. we're not playing the time game. if it takes two years, three years, or five months, it doesn't matter.

to be honest, we're not getting along at all with the negotiators. we think they have taken advantage of our country for a long time and had people who didn't knowe what they w doing, and that's why we had over the last five, six yyears average it out, we had 800 billion dollars a year in trade losses. it's diculous. it's not going to happen. >> nafta, mr. president, nafta, what's that mean for nafta? are you pulling out ofnafta? >> i don't like nafta. i never liked it.ee it's very bad for the united states. it's been great for canada. it's been greatxior . bad for us -- >> are you pulling out -- >> i refuse the u the name nafta. i have seen thousands of plants and factories close and millions of jobs lost to oil companies that moved. mexi is 25% of the oil business now because of nafta. under our deal, it's notpeoing to h anymore. i hate to tell you, it's not. we're going to keep companies. i told the mexicans, i said, we have to keep companies, but they
5:48 pm
are getting a lot also, a lot of good things. mexico made a very good deal, but with canada, it's very tough. what we're d is if we made a deal with canada, which is, you knha, a goode still, but i'mat not thinking hey want to do. >> are you going to notify congress -- >> we'll t call it usmc, like the united states marine corp., love.i general kelly likes it more. where is general kelly? he likes that. usmc, which would be u.s. mexico canada, but maybe it's just usm, canada will come along, now, if canada dot make a deal with us, we'll make a better deal. we're going to tax the cars that come in and putt a billions billions into the treasury and we'll be happy. it's more money than youan make under any circumstance with making a deal. good job, too.

5:51 pm
they call it, as anexample, why not take care of yemen and syria in the deal? the reason? it was too complicated. we're giving 50 billion, paid $1.8 billion in cash, cash, this whole room would be filled up with hundred dollar bills. and you'd need five rooms like this. gave 1.8 billion in cash. why didn't we take care of yemen? take care of syria and other -- and he cede, because it was too complicated. well, you gave yourve cards. you $150 billion, and now yem yemen's a mess, better, and syria's a mess, and i wasonsible, and i hope it stays that way when i put out on socialmedia, aew weeks ago, about the province, i said, don't do it. i'll tell you it happened where i was at a meeting with a lot of

5:54 pm
millions of people have been saved, and i gave today great credit to irdo. t know if you heard that, i gave great credit to iran, russia, and syria for not doing it. w i hope it's going to be surgoal. meaning in, do its lengthy and everything else, and they possibly have to do it, but i think millions of people would have beenhakilled, and would have been a shame, and hopefully, and i have to tell you rkey has been a big help. turkey is great. helping us very much with that whole situation. >> mr. president? >> yes, yes. touching back on of course, this week, you put out a call to action tsother countro rally with america to put calling for the u.s. to come back into the old deal, but after meeting with world leaders this week, did you make any progress towards a potential new deal? >> doesn't matter what world aders think on iran.
