coping with a lot of shock and grief. seven police officers were shot in an ambush style fakeed to a two-hour firefight yesterday. one of the officers was killed. leon harris is tracking the latest. this happened at a house in florence, south carolina. and incredibly, children were trapped inside that house during this fifit. police were trying to execute a search warrant. begane their evide in the alleged sexual assault of a foster child. when they arrived, the suspect's father opened fire wit a high powered rifle. officer terrance was killed. he was an air force veteran and set to retire after just marking s 30th year of service with the frence police department. >> he hafd all the time. he was the proverbial gentle gian and i loved him.
