state. >> why the danger is so much different than hurricane florence and up in flames. one family's suv erupts out of nowhere. it's a story you'll only see on news 4.s n 4 at 11:00 begins with eaking news. and that breaking news we're folling in the district tonight. a young teenager found shot on a sidewalk. good evening, i'm gentzler. >> i'm jim handly. that boy was just walking along, about a block away from turner elementary school, when someone shot him just after tonight. news 4's darcy spencer just spoke with police. darcy, what do we know about that teen's condition now? >> reporter: well, jim, i can tell you, we a o here stanton road, where this 14-year-old was shot and wounded earlier this evening. i want to show ys wha happening here right now. you can see that officers are still here on scene collecting evidence. you can see thes brown b there on the sidewalk and all the evidence markers that are here.

at last check, thige tee remained in the hospital undergoing surgery. now, we want to sho you some video of some evidence there on the sidewalk from this shooting scene earlier today. it appeared to be clothing. now, police placed markers there and they wereo searching for shell casings. the teen was shot more than oine he upper body, just around 8:00 this evening. he was conscio and breathing when he was taken to the hospital, but then i'm toldhat his condition did deteriorate and now he is in surgery. police tell me had been at some sports practice earlier today, but it's not clearf he was returning from that practice when he was shot. ther have been a number of young people shot and killed, shot and injured in shootingsyen d.c. this . >> it's very concerning, i mean, 's frustrating for us to seem to be having to go to multiple scenes like this. we hope the citizens come together and give us the information we need in order to bring some closure to the case.

and just kind of stalled. that is not going to be the case wi this one. florence brought 20, 30 inches of rain. rain and inland flooding was the biggestissue. with michael, it is something completely different. it is going to b the windere that we watch with this storm. yeah, storm surge is going to be a huge deal, as well. but i think it's the wind that's going toe the biggest impact from the storm as it makes its way inland. now, the storm itself, it's getting a lot bdeter ned here. no organization really down into this area, and then watch how you start to see theed developing in the entire area and g, eye is now form looking like that doughnut that we know is a hurricane, with that eye right there in the center. the latest advisory has winds up to 90 miles per hour, moving errth at 12 miles hour now. it is expected to pick up intensity and speed by this b time wednesday morning, actually, coming onshore, close to shore with 120-mile-an-hour category 3winds, right around pensacola. this is going to be a devastating storm to parts of the florida hapanhandle.

this is a cegory 2, eventually making its way to a category 3 hurricane. and that is forecast by the national hurricane center, atinging this to 1 120-mile-an-hourory 3 by 8:00 on wednesday morning, just to the south of the pensacola area and then moving onshore and moving out. now, if it does that, panama city, right here, right aroundal la has see, the area in red, under a hurricane warning already. is goes from the florida/alabama border all the way to the big bend of florida to the cross city area. this is the region that is highly prone to storm surge and storm surge is going to be a major factor. tremendous storm surge. 8 to 12 feet is expected. winds over 100 miles an hour easily. guests 120, 130 miles an hour with this. and this is a big ones tree one down everywhere, in florida and georgia. and then, into portions o the carolinas, we're talking south and north carolina that were just hit with florence a couple of weeks ago, they could see trees down and power outages there, too, with tropical

storm-force winds. here it is thursday, 8:00, at 0 ile-per-hour winds. it's well to our south and east so, we're not going to see real dires imparom this, but as the cold front moves our way, it will interact with the stobr and g some moisture our way, giving us some rain, too. showers likely on thursday. mostly just showers. i'm not talking t anything heavy. but the heaviest rain and the most amount of rain could be back towards the mountains. bigger changes on friday. and that'sind the system, after michael moves out and the cold front moves out, things aychange. look at this map. this is like summer. 84, chicago, 82 in hey, look at that. 40 in denver for a high it is now in the 30s. that colder air will start to make its way our way over the next couple of days and we aret ing significant cool weather as we make our way to the omweekend. fogrow morning and into wednesday morning. highs both days right around 84. watch out for thear fog tomorrow. showers with michael, 79gr s. we'll have to wait and see where
