a woman who risked her life to try and help that girl. >> the detective just called me, he has my hnumber, said that they caught him. >> reporter: news 4 was there moments after laticia, her face bearing the bruises of a life and death struggle, that the detective called them and they had good news. the man was located. >> the most comforting part now is we don't haven't to worry about him coming back here any time soon. >> reporter: earlier, police flooded the neighborhood aer a bizarre and truly horrifying crime. laticia was walking her dog near her home when shean saw a with a little girl about 10 years old. the child spoke chilling words to his mother. be careful, the man has a gun. she told us the man was very strong. he quickly grabbed her and then dragged her and the little girl into the backyard.

trees. now, michael will likely come ashore here early tomorrow afternoon. but tonight, store shelves in many a coastal towns picked bear. gas stations are closed. at least 120,000 people are under mandatory evacuation orders. >> the time to repair is right now. the storm is dangerous and if you don't follow warnings fromf als, this storm could kill you. >> we're right in the cross hairs of this storm, and i urge people to evacuate. there will become a time when you can't evacuate. >> reporter: the impending storm surge is what's gotam p city beach officials worried the most. in the 23 years since hurricane opal hit, the town has boosted the beech elevation and even trucked in special sand to reduce the ct of a hurricane's storm surge. florida is the foc right now, but michael will endoctor trenc the southeast, and that's why georgia is also under a state of emergency toght.

jim, reen? >> thank you, leon. we get updates on this storm every three hours. the newest update came i at 11:00. >> doug, you said you wouldn't be surprised if michaelecomes a category 4 sometime before landfall. what do you think now? there now.ay be the national hurricane center just put out the latest advisory. a category 4 as winds of 130 miles per hour. it's now at 125. that's t latest advisory, and this thing, guys, has only .trengthen incredible strengthening over the past six to eight hours here. the wind has really come down, i mean, this is justf a monster a storm. if it does become a category 4, radar,to show you on the these are the out eer bands, an they are already into the tampa area, seeing some look at the eye of the hurricane. that's how close it is. we can now s this on radar. the latest advisory, which just came out, 125-mile-an-hourhu icane, moving to the northwest at 12 miles an hour. it is now expected to become a 4
