advisory came out. it still has a strong eye, category 4, winds at 140 miles per hour right now moving into georgia. u i'm looking the information now, but it could be the strongest hurricane to hit florida,nd that's aft coming onshore and -- or georgia, after coming onshore in florida first. amazing what's happening. here's the eye.e eye is very much in tact right here. you see the incredibly heavy rain. we are seeing i tornado florida and in georgia. making its way to the north. you can see the tornado watc and, in fact, for the entire state of georgia, northern portions of floridalls and that storm moving to the north and east. already seeing raiowards the carolinas. the storm now expected to make its way throualeigh right off our coastline here by early friday morning, and the latest numbers are in for us. this has more of an impact in our area than we spoke about yesterday. that means stronger winds and heavier rainfall. that's all coming up, b daking n in just a few minutes.

>> how long will if be a hurricane? generally it breaks up after hitting land. >> this strengthened up to landfall. if it had six more hours, it would have been a category 5 atp 165 mil hour winds. that's how fast it was strengthening. i thin it enters georgia as category 4. that could be the strongest storm to hit georgia after moving into florida. take a look, first off, this ie down around panama city beach area where they got h very, very hard. the eye of the storm moving off -- l t aoohetny leaves left. they are stripped as far as the trees were concerned from the high wis, but you notice now, the winds have really subsided.s this storm i moving fairly qukly, about 15 miles per hour right now. take a e'look, and wll show you where the storm is. michael made its way on ld at 1:30 this afternoon. that eye becomes well-defin here, and we knew right away this thing was approaching category 5s staen it made a donut hole like it did.

now it's in the panhandle into southwest georgia and alabama. those areas also under hurricane warnings. the latestadvisory, we'll get these hourly now since it's on lands. 140 miles per hour winds, moving to the north, northeast at 15 miles per hour. that's fast for a tropical storm system, picking up speed moving north and east. 100 miles per hour into georgia tonight. making its way around stau georgia as a 45 miles per hour tropical storm. it may be stronger than that. they a s going to 60 miles per hour winds with this easily, and then this towards the raleigh area, this was an area hit extremely hard by florence a month ago, and then out to sea, but we her are still going to get big time impacts. first off,he hurricane warnings. the warnings are in effect for the panhandle and also a lot of ge now, even into central georgia, hurricane warnings are in effect. you do not see that very often. smart, i worked down in this area in central georgia and never saw that. tropical storm warnings into

north carolina and along the outer banks there. again, hurricane into georgia, winds over 60 to 100 miles per , hospecially in the southwest georgia zone, and trees down everywhere along the evpath. thetation from the trees alone in through the southeast including into the carolinas is going to bezing with the power outages. here's the storm. you can see it. still wrapping itself up moving georgia. notice the red boxes here? those are tornado warnings, another threat from inlands hurricanes making their way onshoror you see the getting on shore at panama city n andow moving into georgia and alabama with heavy rainfall and rwind. weather, we have shower activity, not much, but showers around t and cloud cover after a high at 80 degrees. i want to show you, though, this area we're going to see here for us, still heavy rain. we upped the rainfall totals to 1 to 2 inches in d.c., less than that in the north and west. this is a flash flood watch in the sthern zonesnd fredericksburg, and to the
