especially during the evening hours east of i-95. that's why we have ash f flood watch starting at 2:00 this afternoon. it's going to go until about 6:00 a.m. on friday. the heaviest rain impacts us this afternoon. in the watch, about 2 to 4 inches.n elsewhere,nch of rainfall. right now just a few sprinkles and light showers out there. still, wet roads for the morning commute. t definitely gra umbrella. it's another mild day. 76 degrees right now. temperatures generally stay in the mid-70s throughout the morningou. we continue to track light showered out there thisni m. again, that heavier rain moves in later in the day today. it could be a slow go coming home from work to especially if you're leaving around 5:00, 6:00 p.m. i'll have more on the timing and impact coming up in about ten minutes. >> good morning. taking a look at the beltway here. inner loop and outer loop nice

and clear this morning. i have something inner loop at annapolis. right lane getting by the work ne. fairfax county parkway to the beltway, you're on me, 65 miles per hour. same situation outbound. don't worry about 66 at least at this point this morning. through prince george's county, in town and out of town, no major issues. >> melissa, thank you. it's now 4:02. we want to get back to that coverage of the damage caused by michael. the category 4 storm was the most powerful hurricane on record to hit florida's panhandle. >> winds clocked in around 155 miles per hour, just shy of a category 5. that monster storm hit panama city beach, florida, hard, slitting trees in half, tossing trucks and cars like toys. for about two hours, michael battered the city, damaging practically every home, business, and tree in that area. the storm gutted thist-mobile store, shredding just about everything inside.

you can see debris scattered all over the ereets. powerful winds also blew out the windows of homes and hotel.a peop still dealing with flooding too. >> and here's a bird's eye view of thee in panama city beach, florida. florida governor rick scott says search and rescue teams are heading into the state's hardest hit areas to help survivors of the hurricane. two people have died in the storm, one i florida and one in georgia. and this new video this morning shows the moment the storm ripd off a building's roof in panama city beach. you can see the roof flying off li a sheet o paper in the wind there. a woman riding out the storm in a friend's sixth floor apartment recorded t video. she told local reporters she also saw the wind blow out windows and demolish a resort. even for people sheltered inside buildings, threat was very real. nbc's lester holt found that oui firsthand riding out the

tropical storm michael. maximu winds at 60 miles an hour, moving toward the northeast at 20 miles an hour. anywhery it was movin from about 10 to 15 miles an hour. so it's continuing to pick up speed. later this morning, we'll see the winds come down to about 40 miles an h ar as it stays tropical storm, heading out to sea somewhere around norfolk.ig later t into very early friday, it's going to be helped moving out to sea with a cold front moving through our area. that cold front is why we're so much cooler tomorrow on into the weekend. 50s for highs on saturday for a lot of us. here's the latest on storm team 4 fairfax, prince william seeing oight to moderate rain. moderate rain a falling back in the panhandle of west vi inia. you can see here's the latest with michael. it's still spinning in georgiaa south carolina. this is that cold front that is picking up the moisture. again, it's just going to kind of roll up toward o area. exiting before it hits washington. that's why southern maryland has
