hurricane michael. doug will be back in three minutes with what areas wilybe impacted wind and rain. and the cooldown on the way. a warning from metro after terrible tragedy. a man in a wheelchair fell and died after trying to use an escalator at thebi col heights station yesterday. darcy spencer joins us live with new reaction from the transit agency and froms rid as well. >> reporter: we are here at the columbia heights metro station. this is the elevator that the man wasoing to use. he had apparently pressed the button but the decided to get on the escalator. now metro is waropng . if you use a wheelchair, a stroller, you have to use the elevator for your own safety. at this point, police have not released the identity of the person who died. he was using a wheelchair when he somehow fellbackward.

if you live in western stafford county, fauquierun , this is moving your way. just to the west of fredericksburg. no longer a severe thunderstorm warning but sti a very strong storm, to say the least. notice the area in yellow which includes the northern neck. this area under a tornado watch. right through 10:00. there o has been tornado warning around the norfolkarea. right now, watching the storm. michael just to our south. here it is. it is moving about 25 miles an hour. very close to the raleigh area. right now, we have a live picture. you can see it is on the west side for sure. winds gusting upwards of 50 miles an hour. a lot of power outages and flash flood warnings inhe effect for entire raleigh durham area. so this where michael is right now.

cathedral. the services will be nell two weeks. newin concern prince george's county where thousands of students still don't have the necessary immunizations to attend classes. today we learned a lot of the students are not in compliance with the immunization policy. we also learned there are nearly two dozen schools that don't have nurses. here to talk about it now is bureau chief tracee wilkins. what is the schoo system saying? >> reporter: let's start with what's going on with immunizations. this has been the case for years. prince george's county has an estimated 4,000 students who have not had their school shots. immunizations are not current. that is a major issueer consg that these shots help to keep under control the spread of deadly diseases within our population period. specificolly within sc now, in montgomery county we did

check with that school stem. the largest school system in maryland. they're saying right have 12 students who are out of compliance. so that's a compare tonight to see how severe this is. they're saying they'reki w the school system to try to deal with these large numbers. >> so again, are the students who haven'tte g their shots still attending classes day to f day? they are, who is responsible for making sure they get vaccinations? >> reporter: it is u really to the principals to make sure all the students have been vaccinated. to get the information to the school thsystem. ey're monitoring it closely. what they're saying is they would not violate state policy and allow those not in compliance to atten school. they're saying all the 4,000 kids who have nothe had shots are still in compliance because they're transent somehow. maybe they've just sgoom the
