too. these days kids love to play games on the smart phones. adults, too. there's a new study that f some apps may be selling their stuff without your consent. >> consumer reporter susan hogan is working with what you need to know about your kids and your money and protect them. >> reporter: 95% of apps for kids who are five or younger actually use at least one type of advertising tactic. researchers from the university of michigan looked at 135 apps, someou which themselves as educational games. all of the free apps they checked out l used atst one type of advertising strategy, anything from pop-up video ads to banner ads or even characters to persuade children to make in app purchases. researchers say children don't know how to recognize ads like adults do. theampaign for a free childhood sent a letter to the federal trade commission asking for an investigation. in the meantime, if you have downloaded any apps for children make sure to take a close look
