station and the postal museum, just down the street from the u.s. capitol. in fact, when the shooting happened, the streets in the area and near the capitol were lock down as police looked for two suspects that they believed were involved in all of this. it was about 10:00 last night when the shots rang out. i'm told by police there was some kiennd of altercatith betwn victim and these two suspects. shots rang out. the victim, was stru taken to the hospital, where he later died. at this point, all we know about the victim is he is an adult the lookout is for two people involved in this. at this point, no arrests have been made. of people here in the next couple hours are going to be coming to work, going to be walking over from metro station to the u.s. capitol. all of the roads at this point are now open. however, this one sidewalk area is still off limits. back to you. >> thank you, megan. d i. durki out as the head coach of the football

news 4's megan mcgrath is live at metro's headquarters with how this pla could impact your commute. megan? >> reporter: we, good morning, guys. this actually could make your commute a little easier, depending upon how things shake out. metro is trying to expand and improve service to get riders to come back to metro. so to increase ridership. all of it would come at a cost, about $20 million. tc., maryland, and virginia would have to f bill. now, the budget is being taken up during today's board meeting, so just in a few hours. take look at some of the improvements being talked about here. they include, first of l, making all cars eight-car trains, as well as institutes a $2 flat fee on the weekends, as well as extending rush hour irvice. noaddition to the cost of those service improvements, her costsn the budget are going up. things like pay increases, more money needed for metro access service.
