that someone in a vehicle behind the van took this image of the rear doors swinging wide open as the van made its way down i-270 about 7:00 a.m. captain maxwell says the van was headed from the county correction center to the courthouse in rockville. he tells news 4 a preliminary determined the rear doors were open for approximately ten minutes before the problem, the subject of at least one 911 call, was discovered. >> they get into the specifics, b they are restraints to keep them immobile and to safeguard during the an ort. >> reporter: he says the van, a newer model, was taken out of service a theoors were examined. >> there a multiple doors on that vehicle and they should have bee secured. it appears they were not. we're still looking into the facts and circumstances from thismorning's transport, but that's what it appears at this time.
