we're still monitoring breaking news in montgomery county. we're trying on work our way to this scene. a train and a tractor-trailer have crashed in gaithersburg. you're looking at a livemeraffic image. this is east diamond is that chestnut street. you can see the fshing lights. with a block away away from this intersection. th's where they intersected. they crashed io a tractor-trailer around 4:40 this afternoon. as about 160 passengers were on at train but n reports of injuries at this point. both tracks are sglokd that's causing major delays for marc trains west saw heavy equipment tow truck coming in. we'll give you any new information as it comes in. >> all right.

thank you. more breaking news in prince george's county. a man shot by police this afternoon. crime tape is up on maxwell drive. not too far from joint base andrews. shomari stone is at the scene and just got an what have you learned? >> reporter: good evening. prince george' county police chief hank says this is an example of how his officers put their lives on the line to help the community. he says this suspect fir several rounds at these officers and police had this photo. notice it has a 30-round on it. he they identified themselves as prince george's county officers. the police chief also told me they were doing surveillance on the suspect in the camp springs

community. they stay man believed responsible committed car thefts in the area. that he fired shots at the office here's were trying on arrest him.di that's acc to the police chief. they returned fire and shot the suspect around 2:30 this afternoon. the officers then administered first-aid. the suspect is in stable condition at the hospital. >> it happened too many tim this year. i worry incessantly about the men and women doing this job on behalf of the community. and too many times, people have fired at my >officers. police did not release the name. he is at a hospital in stable condition. detectives are talking to witnesses and they hope to release more information tomorrow. hey have not released the suspect's name. the officers involved in the shooting are on paid

>> we were talking about this last week so did i some digging. first, here isth w for election day. up around thereat lakes, through the mid-atlantic area, that includes us here. lunch time through the early afternoon sohours. strong thunderstorms in parts of the southeast. the gulf states through mid-atlantic. some really great news. most of the weather across the country will be relatively quiet. still up around the great lakes. in parts of the upper northeast. how does the weather impact voting and does it impact voting? first reached out to the weather gang. they said in general from their research which is looking various studies on the topic, it shows rain and snow do decrease weather turnout.

here interesting statistics that they were reading over. one inch of rain equals less than 1% decline in turnout. so unless it is a very close election, they're saying not all that much does weather impact voter turnout. overall, bad weather favors republicans. however they also said more recent studies say that bad weather might favor democrats. so all over the map. i foundes thisrch article public learn in the 2013. what this studyooked at was how could weather impact voters who already show up? so with bad weather, they said votee are less inclined to for a risky candidate. with good weather, they're more inclined to go with the risky candidate. i thought that was pretty interesting. what does this mean for tomorrow? weather wil play a role but it
