he was at the front desk where you pay to get in. i just -- that's all. i don't really remember. it's kind of a blur. i fell down on the floor and waited. when the smoke bom started going off, i booked itut of there. i got out, and i heard a second round of shots, but i aas at stati gas yeah, a lot was happening. >> sarah, you y said were able to get out. can you tell me what you saw as you were leaving and how you were able get outin >> i of -- i just -- my friends got up whenaw we s the smoke bomb. i didn'tnow what it was. it just was smoking. so i got up and ran up some

stairs and booked it out the front door. i don't anow where the gu was at the time, but i ran past where iad seen him. i just didn't look. i just ran. >> and you said you saw the gunman gunman, right? >> yes. i've tald to a couple officers already, but he was weari black and had a black hat. i don't know. that's all i remember. i was honestly in shock. i checked with a couple of my iends to see what they saw. my friend saw the same thing. >> sarah, have you been able to track down all of your friends and find out their conditions at this point? >> i found most of my friends,h

we heard from on yang maoung ma had bloody hands from taking a chair to smash open a windo so he and others could jump out and get away. i want to show you more video tfrom the scene outsit bar. the borderline bar and grill, they were hosting a college night. the and bomb squad are now on the scene. police have confirmed that the shooter isown inside that bar. at least 11 people have been wounded. one of them is sheriff's deputy who rponded to the scene. officials are confirming there are multiple fatalities. i don't know how many of them studentollege we spoke with a witness shortly after everything happened. he says he left the bar with his utgirlfriend about 25 min before the shooting started. take a listen. >> i called my best friend, who was inside, and he just said that people started screaming and that there's bullets flying everywhere. so he threw a stool through a window and jumped out and he's

d.c. poline annou right now he's facing at least a charge of second-degree child sexual abuse in this case. the archdiose says it's already received more allegations in the wake of this report. here now is a look at that priest who is accused. he's urbano vazquez. back in may of 2015, the accuser says vazquez reached down her shirt and touched her bare ine of here at the s the sacred heart. she says she was 13 at the time. he is said to haverseen 42 y old. police say that happened at least twice here. in its o review, the archdiocese reports more fallout in this case. another priest has been remove for not following protocols in arporting abuse to the chdiese. the archdiocese also releasing a statement, readingn part, this was the first report to the archdiocese of this allegation of sexual abuse, and immediately upon learning of this serious allegation, the archdiocese

george's county police to find out whether the department is investigating the allegations. a spokesperson told us no one has reported what happened to the university says it will continue its investigation to determine whatpe will h to those who ti details in another local report of hazing. a police report says on halloween, damascus high school jv football players sexually assaulted teammates as part of a ritual involving a broom stick. "the washington post" obtained a copy of the report, wch has not been made public. it says a 14-year-old boy could be heard screaming, and another boy cried out for the attackers to stop. five playershaace rapees for the attack against four other students inside the locke montgomery county school officials say they were not aware of this so-called ritual. protect mueller. that is the message dozens of

protesters sent the president last night at a rally outside the white house. many are worried the russia investigation is in jeopardy now that attorney general jeffns sessas resigned. demonstrations like this one will continue today in cities across the country. proteste are calling forhe acting attorney general, matthew whitaker, to recuse himself from overseeing the russia investigation. so who is matthew whitaker? wassessions' chief of staff until yesterday and previously served as a u.s. attorney in iowa. whitaker will now oversee the russia investigation. he can dictate the parameters of that investigation, the timeline for its conclusion, and even bob mueller's job security. whitaker has repeatedly criticized the special counsel for havingoo much power and has said the investigation has gone on for too long. whitaker was there last night as jeff ss left the justice department. you seehe two of them there. members of the staff gave sessions a round of applause as he left the building for the last time. sessions' departure was not ex

. we're stayingn top of the breaking news of the mass shooting in southn california. >> this happened in ventura county. the spokesperson there says the shooter is dow n here's an ns special report. g, morn everybody. we're coming on early this morning. we have breaking news. a mass shooting it. it happened at a crowded bar in thousand oaks, california. that's about 40 miles west los angeles. you can see the scene there. >> the sher sf's departments a gunman opened fire inside a bar called the borderline bar and grill. it was during a event. it was actually college night. so kids from nearby colleges were there. hundreds of people were inside at the time. >> we'reust getting information at this hour, but officials have told us that at least 11 people were shot. we know therere multiple fatalities. the gunman has been neutralized,

so we don't know exactly what that means, bhe gunman is no longer a threat at this hour. there are also reports that the shooter used smoke bombs during ede attack. we just lea the gunman is, in fact, dead. the gunman has been sho we don't know exactly how that transpired. let's get to beverly white. she covers news for knbc, our sister station in los angeles. beverly, good morning. what can you tell us? >> reporter: we, it's not a good morning here in thousand oaks, to be honest. there are people wrapped in ir blankets, the faces drenched in tears. they're standing by here with us near the 101 freeway in thousand oaks. it's the bordndline bar grill. a country western bar that was, in fact, enjoying its wednesday ritual, the college night. very popular gathering for hundreds of students here from cal state, cal lutheran, among students with whom we spoke describe a terrifying scene. smoke bombs and gunfire and pele fleeing, leaving behind

for anyone to get to. we're literally below interstate 101, which is of course well known here in the l.a. area. the exits are closed off. there are just hundreds and hundreds, if not thousands of people here. it's a mix of police, law enforcement, you see fire trucks, ambulances, and a number ofeople who say they were inside the bar when this happened, who are still here telling their stories, sharing their stories of what happened when they were inside the aar juster 11:00 tonight. i just overheard one young man talking about what he officially thout were reworks at first. that's what they thought they herd. something we hear so often in these mass shooting sittions. then h realized what was actually going on. we're still waiting to g new information from police. as you have reported, the gunman is dead. we know 11 people are injured. we don't yet know the extent of all of those injuries from the 11 people who were injured. we know o of them was a deputy. reat this point, we' still waiting for more information from police and really from

entura county, where the sheriff is expected to hold a press conference here in the next few minutes. we've learned it happened inside erthe bone bar and grill in thousand oaks. it's about 40 minut outside of l.a. a shooter walked into the bar about 11:30 last night, started shooting people near the front. hundreds of people were inside. 11 people -- at least 11 people have been shot. we know there are multiple. fataliti one of those wounded is a sheriff's deputy, who's now in surgery. you're taking a look at some of the video we got earlier when police were responding to the scene. you can see a massive response. the shooter is dead at this point. as w p wait for thiss conference to get started, i wonder if we can take a listen to one w of thenesses who was there at the scene to sort of put in pspective what we've heard. >> heard shots, looked , knew exactly what was going on. i pulled as many people down

trafficnd responded right away. approximately three minutesla r, a highway patrol officer and a sheriff's sergeant made entry into the borderline because they heard shots being fired and felt there might be additional victims inside. upon going through the front door thesheriff's sergeant was struck multiple times with gunfire. a highway patrol officer stepped back and secured the perimeter until additional units arrived, and he rescued the sheriff's sergeant out of the line of gunfire. when additional units arrived, includi including s.w.a.t. personnel, the simi valley police department, the ventura county

police department, and the highway patrol, they made entry into the boarderlirderline bar grill. they found 11 victims that had been killed. the suspect, who we believe was the only suspect, was deadde in and there were multiple other victims of different levels of jury inside that were rescued from the scene and taken to local hospitals. in addition to the victims insi inside, and the numbers are upwards of 10 to 12, additional victims with minor injuries fled the scene on their own and took themselves to local hospitals. we have not identified the suspect yet. our partners from the fbi were on scene almost immediately to help us with identification and with crime scene processing. >> you'reis lning to the
