the ages were. it is a nightclub. so i would, you know,te specu they were probably in the 21 to 26-year-old age group. >> can you tk about the active shooter training and the sergeant going in? >> there's no doubt the change in how we hane active shooters played a role. the sergeant and highway patrol officer first on scene knew they had to take action a did what they had to do. >> [ inaudible question ]. >> yes, 13. we don't know how many were injured because they went to separate hospitals. i'm going to speculate somewhere between 10 and 15 additional injuries. we don't believe -- there might be one additional gunshot victim, but we think other injuries with r peop injuries were people trying to

after columbine years and years ago. we train with our fire department for active shooting. our officers know, when you get to a scene andhere's two of you or even just one of you and there'ho soting going on, you go in.e that's a chang from what it used to be. we work so well in our county. the highway patrol wasere. when they made entry the second time tonight, there werell simi officers, objectixnard officers, ventura count deputies. everyone comes together to solve the problem. >> from the momt the first contact was made by police to the moment second contact was made, what was the time frame? >> so thee time fram-- so the first deputies arrived on scene at 11:22. they made entry approximately four minutes later. that's when the sergeant was veot. i don't he exact timeline. it was probably close to 15

minutes. they didn't hear any shots fired before they regrouped, got additional oftcers, and wen back in. there were people hiding in restrooms, people hiding in attics. >> [ inaudible question ]. >> i have n idea. >>ff she what else are you investigating in relation to what happened here? what other locations? >> none that i know of. certainly when we find out who his uspect is, we'll go t location and work with our bureau partners to see if there's a connection there. t but s time, there's none that i know of. >> [ inaudible question ]. >> right now, as far ase know, there was only one handgun. that could certainly change as we do a more thorough search of the building. >> you said the suspect was down when police entered the building. >> the suspect was down with a

630/stafford, quite slow for a couple miles thet. it's j a disabled vehicle causing that pain. springfield inbound ho395, lanes after edsall road, right side blocked by a crash there. guys? >> thank you, melissa. 6:09 right now. we're also following a developing story out of d.c. es where a p has been charged with sexual abuse of a young girl. >> he was arrested yesterday and worked at the shrine of the sacred heart parish in columbia heights. news 4's justin finch is live at the church with more on this developing story. >> reporter: well, it's likely that parishioners here will have more questions, especiall that the archdiocese has announced they are hearing from more ausers. we now know that father urbano vazquez is facingha ae of second-degree child sexual abuse. this stems bac to m of 2015 when the accuser in this case says vazquez reached down her shirt and touched her bare breast while working here at the shrine of the sacred t heart.

time, she was 13 years old, he was 42.ay investigatorshis happened at least two times. the archdiocese also now investigating as well, releasing a statement and reading a rtion of that now. the archdiocese saying, this was the first report to thedi arese of this allegation of sexual abuse, and immediately on learning of this serious allegation, the archdiocese immediately removed father vazquez from the minnd suspended his priestly faculties. since thela initial to police, additional allegations against father vazquez were reported. we also know the archdiocese removed another priest from his duties here at sacred heart as well. we can tell you this is coming, of course, as the archdioce is under the investigation from d.c. attorney general. he's looking specifically into how the archdiocese was handling these allegations o sexual abuse.

we're updating the breaking news in southern california, where there's been a mass shooting in a bar and grill. 12 people have been killed, one of them a sheriff's deputy. witnesses say a man pulled a handgun and started shooting as he walked through the front door. it happened around 11:30 last night in thousd oaks, about 40 miles outside l.a. the borderline bar and grill was hosting a collegenight. there were hundreds of people inside. two officers responded almost immediately. strgeant ron hellis was f through the door. he was shot multiple times and died about an hour ago at the hospital. witnesses say at least 30 shots were fired. one stude a threw chair through a window to smash the glass and allow others to ne tness went through. >> he was a hard-working, dedicated sheriff's he was totally committed.e
