quite honestly some of crystal cities deficiencies may have been a blessing in disguise. a big level, they wanted a metro area of at least a million people. they also wanted a business friendly environment. northern virginia is seen as very friendly to biness in terms of low regulation and low taxes. they needed tora a tech talent. you can already see a growing tech thsector. needed about a half million square feet of office space and up to 8 million square feet over the next fewyears. that is possible for a reason i'll tell you about in just a second. they want to be near an airport. you have one ometro stop reagan here. alaska airlines, a coup of flig -- a couple of flights to seattle and

night for pedestrians in montgomery county, county and state leaders will meet to discuss safety. >> that meeting couldn't come at a better time. last night in a span of a few hours, six people were hit by cars in montgomery county. take a look at the map here, it shows you where the incidents happened. two of themook place in rockville. that happened just after 5: lanight. police say a dodge charger hit the woman as she crossed the street. authorities say weathla could haved a role in all of these incidents. >> this is unfortunately a perfect storm due to the fact that it's getting darker earl r eainier. it's ra it is cold. >> it's still unclear if the vehicle was seding or pedestrian was taking the crosswalk. >> a violent night on the roads on north capitol street and new

york avenue. firefighters had to pull a woman out fromnderneath the bus. she was hit by a d.c. trails bus that operates beten d.c. and new york. the woman's injuries were considered critical. we're working to find out how sh is doing thi morning. developing this morning, d.c. police believe a woman mayave died of hypothermia outside of union station. on sunda morning, commissioner that represents the hill east area was wal to catch a train at union station. that's when she noticed a wom a on bench in columbus circle. she quickly realized the woman was not asleep but unconscis. >> s was barely wearing, you know, clothes, maybe a light t-shirt, light pants. it was 32 degrees outside and i called 911 and i said i need help. there's a d.c. resident here that does not look good. >> paramedics were not able to save the woman's life. d.c. police arenvestigating e exact cause of her death. >> now to breaking news from iglifornia where firers are continuing to fight three
