the frederick area again. we've seen trucks loading up with salt and spraying the brine on roads to get ahead of this wintry mix. chris gordon is live off of i-270 near frid ricederick. >> reporter: we a expecting slick and messy roads. tomorrow morng's rush hour a lot of commuters who will be coming from the north and west, the area that doug just said is thes him because that area of heavy snow. trucks a loaded at this salt dome in silver spring. large tanker trucks carrying ti-ice salt brine are pre-treating the roadways, the beltway, 270 and all state eroads. the whtreaks in the travel lanes show exactly where the brine has been sprayed. >> t salt brine gives us an ge up to keep anything from

lived next to jeffr clark jr. all these year and not known he had ties to white nationalists. erin has lived here for 15 years and knows the clark family well. at least she shothought she did. >> i feel sick about it. >> reporter:n fbi affidavit says jeffrey clark jr. admitted hat he was a member of white nationalist groups and says that he had contact with the pittsburgh synagogue shooter on social media whom he praised as a hero. according to the fbi,hose words were enough for clark's own family members to take his guns an alert authorities. neighbors can't help but wonder if another attack was prevented. >> i'mo very grateful, but i cannot imagi just the inner turmoil of giving up your own child. >> reporter: they also wonder diverse ne in this community could harbor so much hate, but for many of them, it is a disappointing reflection on the current state of the country. >> it is moralizing, it is

caller that he will make a decision soon on dhs secretary kyrgios contin kirstjen nielsen and also there could be changes with wilbur ross and ryan zinke. pacific gas and electric says it experienced a problem with a transmission line in the area the fire in california began just before it started. that fire has killed at least 48 people so far, dozens of others are still missing. many of then their 80s and 90s. more than 8,000 buildings are destroyed, most of them were homes. the three men charged with a killing 10-year-old in northeast d.c. over the summer will remain in jail, judge says there is enough evidence to keep makiyah wilson's killers there. news 4 spoke with the girl's family after the decision.

and investigators believe that they were talking about one of the guns they used in the crime. and the judge also heard abo text messages sent just before the murders that said about to go put work in and let's go do what these messages and videos were just some of the evidence that led to the judge's final decision. >> still gets to sit with her big sister. just like the judge said, it is a danger to the environment, to the community. >> reporter: prosecutors showed the judge a video of the three suspects getting into a bmw just before the murders. prosecutors believe at some point they got into a black infinity, the same vehicle that you saw in the surveillance video, pulling up to theor neigod. and the defense attorneys for the suspects say that there is no dna edence, no video showing our clients at the scene. and no gunsere recovered. but they will be back in court

but off to the west, only in 30s. 39 gaithersburg, 40 manassas, 36 in win xhchester. this could have thenteaviest am of snow, sleet and rain. you see aow the moisture to the south, and there is a ton of it right out of the gulf of mexico. you can see the snow, memphis around st. louis, sis could pick up 4 to 7 inches. just amazing the reach that this inorm has. and eventually min to our area. it is moving in tomorrow morning. right during the early part of the morning. this is 6:00 a.m., it is already snowing in much of the area here and it will start as snow we think, but thenuickly change over to rain from d.c. southward. so by 10:00, 9:00, ichl-95 shou the fine. north and west, they could sti be dealing with snow. most of it will be on the grassy surfaces and anyat t roads should be fine, but heads up for the secondary roads.

by 1:00, notice tha the rain/snow line up towards frederick, so this is just heavy rain. but back to the west, where we're seeing some snow, rai rain, some freezing and some sleet. ice could be a big problem here. throughthe time even 6:00 into west virginia, but by 6:00, just about everybody looking at thatfa heavy ra. that is why we have the winter weather advisory for areas in the purple. potential for a little bit of snow and ice accumulation and then just over to rain. back to the awest, it i warning because of much more in the way of snow, up to 3 to 5es inhere. and ice could be a big issue up to a quarter inch of ice. that is really going to cause problems on area roads. once again not the same in the d.c. metro area. but let's show you, we are talking about some cancellations and delays that may occur. >> yeah, and of course the timing is huge with school cancellations and delays. just as the kids are heading in

to school this is when the event is starting. so there could be some delays and cancellations out there. if y are in d, the i-81 d corridor, think that there is a high likelihood that the school districts in red hereoi where to cancel tomorrow. w, no of course this is just an idea, just a forecast based on the latest information that we are receiving. some delays mainlye in pri william, fairfax, montgomery county, up around howard and baltimore county as well. montgomery and prince william counties, they are rn the line because the northern part of the counties could see a little bit more inclement weather and so a delay cou turn into a cancellation. so as the morning hours wear on, how it unfol will be interesting to see. but bottom line what we know, a wintry mix, a wintry mess out there toowrror mning and mainly rain for the second half of the day.

case. >> i'm still paying interest and i can't even drive the car. reporter: he is frustrated. he bought this 2006 cadillac in august from auto wholesalers of rockville, but he's never had a chance to drive it because the car broke down on the beltw a ju few miles after driving it off the lot. >> everything just shut down. >> reporter: he was shocked. auto wholesalers had given him this piece of paper showing the cadillac had passed a state inspection that very same dahe >> that is t only reason i felt comfortable purchasing there vehicle. >> reporter: he had the car towed to a cadillac dealership and spent more than $1300 to get itni runng again and have it reinspected. but the cadillac leadership found nine items on the inspection checklist that still failed.
