that crashed had been shot. the driver and another passenger, both women, were injured in the crash. it may have been preceded by some type of argument by two groups inside the mall. >> that's what detectives are looking into right now. they are attempting to review surveillance video from the various stores and talking with mall security to see what have transpired inside the mall and also in the parking garage. >> reporter: the shooting and crashpe hapd about 7:00 p.m. a busy time on a busy night, as people pickedp last minute items before the thanksgiving holiday. part of the covered parking groj was blocked off by ylow police tape. police and mall security officers escorted customers around theo crime scene they could retrieve their cars. >> we just parked there and went eo the mall to buy some stuff and just couldn't get to the car. >> reporter: the man who was shot ised descrs being in serious condition. live in wheaton, jackie news 4., >> jackie, thank you.o

bwi marshall airport. police to found one person dead earlier this evening in the upper terminal. the maryland transportation authority says it was an isolated incident and they don't believe there's any threat to anyone el. the airport is still operating on a normal schedule this evening. at reagan national airport today, no major issues for thanksgiving travelers. all the airports in ourre area crowded, bull passengngt pass told us security lines wrp not unbearable. the traffic getting to the airport might have been the biggest hurdle fors passengt dca. meanwhile, some of the biggest delays on the east coast today were on the rails. in new jersey, amtk says plastic wrap and a power wire disrupted service f an hour on the northeast corridor, but tonight that service is back to normal. tonight, we're getting an up close look at the major work ing done on one of our most iconic bridges. if you bike or dve it, you know the memorial bridge is a mess. >> it's temporary, though, it's

just a couple of mths into a multiyear project, but as tuss learned today, it's about a lot more than just road work. >> reporter: it's safe to say that the memorial bridge is fully under renovation. there's some incredible stu ppening here, because while the bridge itself is being strengthened to support cars bicycles and pedestrians, this structure is also a memorial, and that's being restored. >> it served as a memorial to our veterans sacrificsacrifices. >> reporter: the restoration process is meticulous and well thought-out. >> reporter: each piece is assessed. labeled with a green piece of tape and a red piece of tape. green means goodnd red means there are repairs needed. >> reporter: it is really azing that when you consider piece by piece this bridge is coming apart, because it is a memorial. s ght there, that piece wei 2,000 to 3,000 pounds, and there are over 2,000 pieces just on

new tonight, a message meant to make others think before drinking and driving. the father of the late minute gomry county police officer noah liatta spoke tonight during the alcohol task force roll call. almost three years ago, a dru driver hit the officer while he worked a dui patrol. he died a week later. a social media campaign is urging people to boycott so-called blackout wednesday on thanksgiving eve. it's something the officer's father hopes people take
