hands full investigating several violent crimes. they all haperned yey. it was a violent day for the district. >> two people were killed and another person remains inic crit condition this morning. all the violent crimes each occurrg within a few hours of each other. one of them happened lateast night in one of d.c.'s neighborhoods. a man wasbb s to death inside his apartment in the shaw neighborhood. the neighbor told news 4 he p.m.. a fight around 7:0 police found one man dead there. neighbors can't believe something like this happened on their block. >> i'm shked. it such a nice neighborhood. it's fairly quite for being the neorhood that it is. >>olice have not yet released the victim or the name of any potential suspect. >> hours earlier a man was shot on taylor street in northeast d.c. he is in critical condition. police are searching for a black hummer seen leaving the asta

we continue to track the crisis at the u.s.-mexico border. hundreds of migrants are camped out near the a border are unable to cross. u.s. customs officials say they arrested nearly 70 people, all of whom were allegedly trying t get into the country troops fired tear gas into the crowd of people attempting to cross the border. some ofenhose were and children. none of them were armed. it sparks seriouse debat over the trump administration's t handling of situation. yesterday at the white house, president trump wasbo asked it. >> are you comfortable tear gassing children, like what we sa the border. >> as you know, they're not. they had to use because the b weng rushed by very tough people, and they used tear and here's the bottom line, nobody is coming into our country unless they come in legally. >> the president is trying to use the border crisis to get $5 billionild a border wall.
